Hotel in zona The Doolin Chocolate Shop, Doolin

Abbiamo aspettato qui in passato e siamo stati molto felici con l'hotel, ma questa volta è deludente. Era sottoscritto e la stanza che abbiamo avuto era piccola per una famiglia, non si poteva muoversi in esso!! All'esterno, le tavole avevano bottiglia vuote e vetri che non erano mai raccolti mentre eravamo li' e ci sedevamo più di due ore. La camera non aveva aria con e era molto caldo per dormire. La piscina era bella e era l'accento! Dopo quello che abbiamo pagato per la stanza, mi aspettavo di più! Se pagavamo meno, allora era abbastanza giusto, ma la nostra stanza era quasi 240 euro per una notte, che è molto per quello che abbiamo. Non aspettare qui di nuovo a meno che non ci fosse più economico o la stanza era molto meglio.

On the 10th of August we were on holiday in Clare, we had travelled along the coast via Lisdoonvarna and Fanore. Circa 1.30pm we arrived in Ballyvaughan and decided to have something light to eat as we were booked for dinner later in Ennis. We popped into Hylands and decided to go for the bar menu. My wife and I went for the toasted special at 10.50 euro each. The young server was a very pleasant girl from Carron. My son went for a chicken dish. When the sandwiches came they were compressed so tightly they looked disgusting, we couldn't make out what was inside the soggy bread. There was a bit of withered green leaves on the side and a spoon of what we think was some sort of cheap coleslaw. The presentation was appalling and how any chef could let this out of a kitchen defies all logic, says a lot for their culinary skills. We had to order chips separately at 4.50 a go and one potato would have covered what we got in a little silver pot. All in all it was one of the worst presentations of food we ever had, it was awful. I made my feelings known but all the girls could say was Sorry. I can honestly say I would never return to this premises and certainly would not recommend to anyone. Hylands need to get their act together and refrain from serving poor quality food at exorbitant prices. Many other reviews have had similar experiences but they continue to throw out this type of food.

Che posizione incantevole, un hotel meraviglioso e la piscina era fantastica con l'ulteriore vantaggio di una vasca idromassaggio esterna con vista sul mare. La mia camera era la 631 con un grande letto king size, scrivanie, un bagno adeguato con vasca e doccia, sedili con tavolo, scrivania e TV e tutti i soliti servizi in una camera d'albergo. Niente prese vicino al letto, il che è qualcosa che tutti gli hotel devono avere ora, ma quella era l'unica critica alla stanza. Il personale era adorabile, disponibile e cordiale, anche se do 4 stelle perché il check - in non è avvenuto per 10 minuti a causa della mancanza di personale alla reception, non ho idea del perché, ma è stato risolto OK. L'hotel è pulito, la camera era pulita, ben presentata e molto accogliente. Ho fatto colazione che era la normale colazione a buffet cucinata, toast, pancake, pane, cereali, tè o caffè, succhi di frutta con molte opzioni di posti a sedere e vista sul mare. Il personale era eccezionale, il cibo era buono e l'atmosfera rilassata. La vista ti dà un ottimo inizio di giornata. Ho usato la piscina che era fantastica. Alcune famiglie lì con bambini, una corsia per nuotare, un bagno turco funzionante, una sauna e una vasca idromassaggio riscaldata. La vasca idromassaggio esterna è incredibile. È un must in questo hotel. Durante il mio soggiorno stava piovendo, quindi il campo da tennis esterno e l'area giochi per bambini non venivano utilizzati, ma vale la pena ricordare che li hanno. La posizione sembra remota ma è a soli 5-10 minuti in auto da Salthill e Galway. C'è un distributore di benzina accanto all'hotel sulla strada principale e un piccolo villaggio. Immagino che tu acceda all'hotel in auto, taxi o autobus.

Buon albergo a circa 25 minuti a piedi dal centro di Galway, dotato di ampio parcheggio gratuito. La nostra stanza era ampia, con bagno. Pulizia OK. Il letto è confortevole. La stanza è abbastanza silenziosa. Buona colazione (per noi compresa nel prezzo della stanza) a buffet, molto abbondante e varia. accoglienza; checkin veloce; checkout velocissimo.

After an overnight flight into Dublin, there are several bus lines and regular services to drive you to Galway (expect about a 2 hour drive). From the bus stations in Galway it's a 15 minute cab ride (less than 20 Euros). Galway Bay Hotel has a great view on Galway Bay within walking distance of the suburb of Salthill restaurant and bar area. You are however a good 30 minute walk from the Latin quarter of Galway city and its historical venues. Galway Bay Hotel has its charms with vast rooms and dedicated staff. I can not however give this an ”Excellent” nor a ”Good” score. First there is no AC. First night there the weather was unseasonably warm, and it was uncomfortable. Although the room was clean, there was lingering musty smell (I suppose it was coming from the carpet). Overall it's a good stay but manage certain expectations.
