We went for Sunday lunch at Owston Hall today, and the food and service were excellent - the Best Sunday lunch I have had in ages, and very reasonably priced. The Restaurant was being run by the hotel Deputy GM (Becky) - she was superb as were her staff. Owston is definitely now our "go-to" spot for lunch or dinner when visiting family in the Doncaster area.

Had a pleasant stay here for one night. Room was very spacious and clean. Nice bathroom and lovely toiletries provided. Breakfast was good and not rushed. Expensive if you don’t get it as part of your room rate though. Impressive building and setting.

We stayed for one night in this hotel. We'd paid for bed, breakfast and a dinner allowance. The room was spotless, the bed and pillows ultra comfortable and the staff were lovely, especially the dinner head waiter, who went out of his way to help when my husband asked for Gaviscon ice cream for dessert(!) Ice cream served, with a side of a Gaviscon tablet. The dinner was really lovely too. The bacon and sausages at breakfast were also very anaemic looking - something your kitchen could easily remedy. Being picky, dressing gowns would have been a nice touch. All in all, a really lovely stay.

It was such as shame as this place could be incredible. A lovely location, easy to get to off the A1, and a fantastic building. And there is nothing glaringly wrong, it's just a bit rough around the edges. Key card locks but no key cards and a cardboard one wedged in door for power. The staff not unpleasant but also not friendly, eye got an eye roll for asking for a beer at 10pm. The breakfast is £18 but for that I got two bits of bacon, a mushroom, tomato, a hash brown, and a pretty poor sausage. I got beans also (which must be asked for separately for some reason). I would expect to pay £7 at a cafe for that. Our room had a smell of backed up drain. Our double bed was two singles pushed together. Like I say, nothing awful, just for £125 but it is a step below Premier Inn. It's a shame because it could be so much better.

I took my wife here for afternoon Tea. How disappointing. For the price, the display was very poor compared to other places we have been to. Scones were rock hard on the outside and the cream was not clotted. Fancy names for food don't make it taste any better. Not a place I will be visiting again or recommend to family and friends.

We’ve eaten here a number of times but today was a little disappointing. Starters were enjoyed although the prawn cocktail was too spicy meaning you couldn’t really enjoy the prawns due to the amount of paprika but maybe that’s a personal choice? The Stottie cheese melt was good as was the crispy beef. Our main course of Sunday lunch arrived for two of our party with them then sat waiting for 5 minutes for mine to arrive, the side of vegetables were a further 5 minutes after that. Our cauliflower cheese strolled to the table as we had almost finished, as did our round of drinks. The cauliflower cheese was possibly the saddest looking part of the meal as was basically cauliflower with sauce pored over it , very bland looking, not browned in the oven with the sauce being hot and the cauliflower Luke warm. Such a shame as the food , other than the cauliflower cheese was mostly enjoyed but the disjointed and slow service let it down and good value with a two or three course option.

We have just returned from a night stay and can recommend it to anyone. The suite we had was spotless ,and the bed very comfortable. The evening meal and breakfast was cooked perfect.All the staff are friendly and very efficient.Will definitely be returning.

100% recommend. Lovely surroundings, friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful room. Great value for money. Easy carparking and the location for Doncaster is just what was needed. (and they know how to keep their real ale properly - superb pint)

We were lucky enough to be given a suite for our stay, it was absolutely beautiful. Probably one of the best hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. The booking through to the service in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was wonderful. Could not have wished for a better stay. Our only disappointment was we only had booked for 1 night.
