My mum and I stayed here to break the journey between Jaipur and Udaipur. It was our most enjoyable stay of our whole India trip. The family were so welcoming and we felt like we were right at home. It was great to have a real family experience admist all the hotels. Thank you so much for opening your home to us. Our lake view safari will be laughed about for years!

A delightful place, where you are personally hosted by the resident family, as well as their excellent staff. The hotel is beautifully decorated & clean & the lakeside grounds are carefully tended. Dining is a communal experience with the host family & other guests. They were good at entertaining. There’s a small swimming pool & massages & haircuts are offered, as well as yoga at dawn… I was watched by peace & a grey hornbill as I did this. A particular highlight was the evening safari drive, firstly seeing birds ( including a kingfisher), monkeys & water buffalo, then drinks at sunset by a lake, and then after dark we actually saw some leopards. Quite special

We just departed this elegant lodging, where we were welcomed warmly by the lovely couple who own it and served conscientiously by the staff. Built in 2014, the beautiful estate has the appearance and ambiance of a princely house from an earlier generation. Our suite was large and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed massages, a local train ride, and the evening safari. Drinks in the courtyard before dinner around a fire provided an opportunity to visit with our gracious hosts and other guests. The same is true of the delicious meals we enjoyed at breakfast, lunch, and dinner at shared tables. The cuisine was flavorful and well presented and seasoned. In addition to local and regional dishes, western options were available at breakfast. We regretted leaving this superb property and would be pleased to return. Do not the miss the opportunity to enjoy such fine hospitality and service. We left refreshed and with warm memories.

Amazing stay at this palace hotel which doubles as the home of our hosts Shatrunjai & Bhavinda and their two sons who are all Rajasthan royal family. We were lucky to be the only two guests staying and had one of the largest rooms we have ever stayed in. Nothing was too much trouble for them and their staff. We stayed on a full board basis and all our meals were excellent as was their company of an evening and we were made to feel very much part of the family. The palace hotel is beautiful as were the grounds and views over the lake with shady veranda and pool area. We appreciated the evening courtyard log fire and drinks under the stars plus the hot water bottles (this was winter time) ! We would totally recommend the massages and reflexology from their resident local guide and fitness guy who also took us on a walk around the lake and lovely local village centre. Absolutely our best stay in Rajasthan, we loved it. N&C

A warm welcome from the owner Bhavna and her two delightful sons. Fabulous house beside lake, delicious meals taken either outside in the garden or in their grand dining room. All guests eat together maintaining a family feel. Sunset safari worth doing with the two sons who have extensive knowledge of the bird life. Overall, a wonderful three days where nothing we asked for was too much trouble . We can highly recommend for R and R after the hustle and bustle of Jaipur and Jodpur.

Home stay Not a hotel At first I was not happy that it was a home stay. In the end it turned out to be one of the most pleasurable experiences I have had staying anywhere in my life. There was no restaurant menu and the dishes were not the standard restaurant offering. Again something I was not happy with at first….. But They were all old family recipes served by the staff in a thall style .. Quite honestly the best food I had in my three weeks in India and possibly some of the best food I have had in my life . I felt like I was a guest of the family staying at their country villa .. A lovely relaxing atmosphere.. Many discussions over dinner with the family and a wonderful experience overall that I will carry with me for the rest of my days..

A real oasis in the middle of a busy tourist schedule. We are so pleased that we stayed three nights. Eating and talking with three generations of the Dev Shree family over dinner each evening was a delight - wonderful hospitality. A bonus was seeing a leopard and her cub on the evening safari. We also took the train journey, visited a school and learned how to make Indian bread - recommend all these activities.

Simply the most wonderful place to stay in the countryside. You are made to feel more of a house guest as you are included in the family life. The family are the most brilliant hosts - nothing is too much trouble. Service was first class and all the meals were delicious. The house is beautiful and in an enchanting setting. We simply loved it. We also went on the narrow gauge railroad which was fantastic. We would love to return one day

Away from the hustle and bustle tucked away in the country side, Dev Shree Deogarh more than met our expectations. It is a place where tradition meets tranquillity, with all the modern amenities. The picturesque surroundings echo its rich history & the hospitality made us feel as if we were coming home. The food was delicious and the chefs very accommodating. The two sons made our daily experience feel as if no one else had the same adventures, our bullock cart ride and safari drive was so much fun. Thank you from the pyjama party group
