Bluegreen Vacations the Soundings

The Soundings Seaside Resort is in the quiet town of Dennisport and Soundings is right on the water. Glorious walks on the beach, wonderful indoor and outdoor pool and you are near everything. We went right after Labor Day which is perhaps the best time to visit; less crowds but weather was wonderful. We hope to go back again.

Beware of Bait and Switch at Soundings resort!! In Feb 2024 I reserved a one bedroom suite for a 3 night stay in July 2024. As a non timeshare owner at this resort I booked through Choice Hotels website. 3 nights cost roughly $1,500. At the time of reservation I paid a 1/3 deposit. I booked based on photos from both Choice website and Bluegreen Timeshare website. These both show pictures of rooms with balcony overlooking ocean. Bluegreen shows floor plans of the one bedroom suite. I assumed this is what I was getting and worth the price with these features. I received a call 4 days prior to check in from resort telling me the desciption of my reserved room. Picture a room in the back building which is not even highlighted in any pictures on both websites. First floor room with no ocean view and no balcony or outside sitting space? I was told it had a spiral staircase with bed upstairs. Nothing like this is on websites? I asked if they had a floor plan or photos of this and they were unable to provide either. I called the resort two times with questions because it just did not seem to reach my expectations. I was told to call Choice, to see if they had another room available or if they may adjust the price. When I called Choice they told me the resort would have to assign another room or adjust price. So neither were helpful. I called the resort one last time to explain this and the woman who I spoke with was so incredibly rude saying she saw how many times I had called and why do I keep calling? Wow! I was in shock that as a customer I was spoken to and treated this way after a complete bait and switch. I have reserved many timeshares as a non owner and usually you get exactly what you see on the websites. See my attached photos from websites. They only show pictures of the building closest to ocean that have balconies or outside sitting spaces. See pictures of the one bedroom suites shown online. All have balconies. None have two level with spiral staircase. This is very misleading. To me a room with no view in a back building is not worth $500/night. I obviously cancelled and received my refund for my deposit. Very dissapointed as this was cancelled last minute and was hard to find anything comperable. If you are not a timeshare owner do not take the risk!!! Advice to Choice and Bluegreen Timeshares to update websites with more accurate photos, descriptions and floor plans. Also teach your employees to try being nice.

We are BlueGreen owners. We’ve stayed here two years in a row because it is so nice. Right on the beach, plus an indoor and an outdoor pool. Our family really enjoys staying here. Very close to a lot of good restaurants. Only an hour from Provincetown as well. Rooms were clean. Staff is great.

Lovely location and well maintained resort, but the name "The Soundings" is appropriate; there is absolutely no insulation between units. We heard the squeaky floor above us, people walking above us, children running above us, people talking next door, people sneezing next door, TV's from both above and beside us. It was particularly annoying at 6 am.

We had a good first 2 night stay. The seafood was quite nice and as expected. The people here were friendly and generously offer us assistance when we experienced a gashed flat tire at a round-about traffic circle. This limited our touring capability as a tire had to be brought in from a supply center. The resort itself is quite nice, visually appealing with the ocean breezes keeping the air fresh.

My wife and I often visit the Cape in spring but this is the first time we ever had a place on the water. The Soundings looks as good in person as it does in photos. We traded in through RCI so based on other reviews we didnt expect much of a room. Were we mistaken! We had a lovely 1- bedroom on the second floor looking straight out at the Sound. The unit was small but more than adequate for the 2 of us. There was a kitchenette consisting of an apt size fridge, coffeemaker, microwave and sink (many municipalities do not allow full kitchens). The bathroom was big. I would have liked a grab bar for the bath and the sink offered nowhere to place things but for a week it was fine. We used the gas fireplace several chilly nights but the star was a deck with 2 Adirondack chairs and a little table to sit and admire the views. Everything was neat, clean, comfortable and worked. My wife liked the free lobby coffee every morning and there was a fire pit fire every night weather allowed. It was Patriot's Day week when we were there so kids were everywhere and enjoyed the indoor pool. There's a nice looking outdoor pool in season and the sand and the Sound are steps away. We enjoyed our week at the Soundings Seaside and hope we can visit again.

The Soundings is a pleasant resort in a beautiful location. The staff is great. Quiet and relaxing in the off season. If you are hoping to see or do anything in particular, check to see they are open as alot of things o not open until May.

If you want to fall asleep to the sound of the waves this is your home away from home! Large enough to accommodate a family of four the two bedroom, two baths units are comfortable and spacious. The kitchen has a microwave, no oven. The living room is cosy with a gas fireplace. The beds are comfortable and the unit has 3 televisions with a choice of interesting channels, Very well situated to discover Cape Cod!
