Sunbright Inn

We stayed in the library room on the third floor. I ordered a spa package to enjoy the claw foot tub and got a book to read. Muffins were great and experience was magical. Loved every minute. Just what o needed to unwind and destress

Absolutely stunning Inn! The owners have spared no expense in the remodel. The common areas are comfortable with beautiful furnishings. Our room was the Loblolly which was in the back of the Inn on the bottom floor. We loved the furnishings with the dark woods and green colors. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room had a small fridge and coffee station to blend in with the room. Upon arrival we were greeted with the music playing and a tray on the bed with a welcome letter and muffins for the morning. Loved the black out curtains! It was a romantic evening with dinner at Iron and Grape (a must visit). There were other guests at the Inn but heard nothing but a little road noise. Thank you for a lovely visit-we will return to Defuniak and stay here again!!

It was a fantastic place for our 12 year old great granddaughter to experience going back in time and for us too. It was quite an experience with it still having all the modern amenities at your disposal. The only suggest would be to also serve a breakfast though they did have delicious muffins with coffee and tea. We had the Govenor's Suite.

We booked one night only because we had commitments elsewhere. The entire experience was a shockingly wonderful surprise. From the elegant furnishings, comfortable bedding and old fashioned hospitality. We will certainly return to spend more here and around town. We highly recommend Sunbright Inn. Come and be impressed. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Inn. You can feel the heart and soul the owners put into restoring it to its former glory. Every room is unique and beautiful. You're greeted with water and yummy muffins. There's also coffee and a coffee maker. The bathrooms are huge and the beds are comfy. The "lobby" is beautiful and, because we were there during the week, we had it to ourselves and were able to meet with our client and witnesses prior to our trial. Even though they aren't on site like a regular hotel front desk clerk, they are extremely responsive to any and all questions/requests. The security was top notch. There are huge iron gates that require a code. The front door requires a code and each room requires a code. I felt very safe. Also, the wifi? AMAZINGLY fast. Sunbright will now be our go-to "hotel" anytime we need to stay in DeFuniak Springs!

The Sunbright Inn is a delightful historic home that has been converted to an Inn. Soaring main floor ceilings, period furniture and well appointed rooms make this beautifully renovated inn very tempting. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is not a soul to be seen on the property. The grounds are meticulously groomed without a blade of grass out of place. These factors combined make for an unsettling experience. It’s creepy AF. Keypads on every door that lock automatically upon closing. Yes, you can text with a supposed person, but ***? You could actually use this for a movie script (I’m thinking along the lines of “Get Out.”) The heavily carved four-posted bed was so high there was no way I could get on it without the step stool, unless I was a pole vaulter. The mattress topper is so spongy it swallowed me up like a Venus flytrap, but the pillows are dense with foam that my body was sinking while my head was perched high on the pillow. I had the worst night sleep ever. If you need a mattress topper, you should be replacing the mattress. The one thing people want when staying anywhere is a good sleep with a decent mattress. The Sunbright Inn is not shy with their rates and I would expect a reasonably comfortable mattress. Aside from the mattress debacle, there is considerable street noise so best bring earplugs and white noise. Best of luck.
