The room was very expensive and no breakfast. The room was nicely decorated but cold when we walked in, not welcoming. The radiator was turned on then the room was warm. The bathroom stone cold, no heating, cold stone floor, shower dirty on the outside at the bottom. Television didn’t operate, on asking we were told it is digital, read the book, there was no book, we were told the book was on the desk, read it. We could not find the book anywhere in the room. The room was not serviced, we were told they are not a hotel. We had no more tea or milk but we were given some. It says on the website clean towels everyday, no clean towels. It was convenient to stay there after my father’s passing but a very disappointing experience.

Lovely accommodation in village setting Very competitive price for a comfortable room. Accommodation( total of 4 rooms) was adjacent to and accessed via the village pub , but we did not hear a thing ! Nice outdoor space for relaxing or dining/ drinking. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay here again. Only considerations are staircase up to accommodation and breakfast is not served in the pub.

One night stay Bed was ok but pillows shabby, mould in shower room, damp on walls and all lamps wonky, furniture very worn, carpet stamped.

Had a lovely dinner (fish and chips & burger) and pudding (sticky toffee pudding) enroute to the Peak District from London. A great stop off, highly recommend the short detour in the car. Emma our waiter was lovely. Have put on our saved places to visit again.

The Red Lion Manager and staff were very helpful and the pub was very clean. We held my Mums wake at the pub and all the staff were very accommodating at such a difficult time. The buffet was well presented and the food was good and was enjoyed by everyone. They catered for different dietary requirements. We made a few requests out of the ordinary and they were very happy to help with this. We were able to put photos of Mum on a screen and play a music playlist she would have loved.

Lovely welcome, clean, warm comfortable room. The only problem was, I was unable to eat at the premises on Monday evening this time of year. Apparently they start serving.evening meals again on Monday evenings come March time.

Wonderful place to stay Some of the friendliest and kindest staff I've ever had, with a simple and easy check-in/check-out process. Also very delicious food at the pub downstairs as well. My bed was very comfortable as well, and the room was very clean. Overall, I'd gladly come back to stay if I ever visit again.

Damp room On arrival staff were friendly and helpful On entering the room it just smelt of damp , the walls and bathroom was mouldy Bathroom tiny Would not stay there again

Loud music shook the freezing cold room. Pub was ok and we ate and the food was good. BUT we were shown to our freezing cold room and told we have live music tonight you might want to join us. We did for 30 mins after our dinner but after a 3 hour drive we wanted to get some sleep. The music shook the room until 11.30, then the staff were loud and noisy in the corridors as the staff office is next door to many rooms. The heating went off at around 10.30 and it was very cold. Overall a decent meal but one of the worst nights I have had in a hotel. Avoid weekend nights in case of loud music.
