Best Western Plus Steeplegate Inn

Barking Dogs Had issue with large dog barking early waking up everyone 3 hours early after a long travel day the day before and being exhausted. People weren’t even supposed to have dog in that room management confirmed they lied and said they didn’t have a pet. Manager said sorry and that was it. No discount offered until I mentioned head office then he started back pedalling. He than offers 10% and said I have to promise him not to call head office. I said head office should know about my experience and offering me nothing until head office was mentioned. Then threatened me saying he is giving me nothing back and saying I can’t book through Best Western anymore. Mold on bathroom ceiling and stains all over carpet not sure how this hotel has high ratings. Would have not bothered to rate until the Manager chose to act the way he did. He did assure me the people with the large dog got charged extra though. Not sure how that helps me?

Nice stay! Our room was nice, bed and pillows were good. Bed could of used a thicker blanket. Breakfast was great! The ladies handlinf breakfast were fabulous. Hallways could of used a vaccum. Toothpick on the floor and leaves but im sure with the amount of guest there the olace was busy. We would stay again. Sam at the front desk was very friendly and perssonable.

Frustration concerning rollaways... The property itself was clean and modern. The breakfast was very good but did not have any "grab and go" items. All of the offered main breakfast items were hot (eggs, bacon, sausages, biscuits and gravy, etc.), which normally would have been great. But we were in a hurry for an event check-in and could find nothing to "grab and go". However, my main complaint with this property is they advertise that they have rollaways available for an added fee. Ok great! Yet, when we checked in, I was told that they did not offer rollaways for our type of room because our room had two beds in it. They stated that they only offer rollaways for the rooms with king beds. What? The clerk said it had something to do with fire code.The room we reserved was a large first floor room with PLENTY of space for a rollaway, without blocking any exit or window. We have stayed in MANY hotels where we had little space for a rollaway but were provided one when we asked. I was travelling with two teenaged boys and myself. I always get a rollaway so everyone has their own bed. I specifically selected this hotel BECAUSE it was stated that they had rollaways available.If they only offer rollaways for "certain" rooms, their reservation information should have stated so. I was more than frustrated.

Check in was ok, however the guest service agent was speaking to someone on her ear bud. Room seemed outdated, and run down. Ok for one night. Hotel was loud, but we kind of figured it would be since it was a Saturday night. There was a lot of people in the pool area at check in, so we planned on going swimming in the morning. When we arrived at the pool, there were soaked towls all over on the ground, along with garbage and broken toys everywhere. Garbage cans were overflowing. We don't hold the hotel responsible for the broken toys, and garbage, but we do expect the pool to be looked over/cleaned up at least before its going to be opened for guest. It was very unkept. Also there were no towels for drying off (probably because they were all on the floor). Breakfast was sub par. Basic continential breakfast, however it looked sloppy as far as being thrown together for early risers. Overall it was a convenient location for the event we were in town for, however i dotn think i would stay here again. it's not awful, but it's not great.

bathrooms need update, would be nice to provide slippers as the floors are hardwood. ironing board would not stand upright. i had to prop it against something. window had a large crack, i asked to have it taped but nothing happened. room doors need oiling or something t make them close easier. you have to slam them to shut. same goes for outside to inner doors would be nice to have. more of an adult time in pool, not just for 1 hour. maybe an hour in the morning as well. kids running, screaming crying lying in halls. very noisy. I did like the shampoo, body wash & lotion small amount of fruit or even cups for breakfast would be great

The kids in the pool and having a pool in the middle of the hotel is ridiculous loud obnoxious
