Historic pub in the middle of town. Great location and close to everything. Staff were great and very helpful. Room on top floor was large with king sized bed. Clean and well appointed with a great shower. Only recommendation for bathroom would be instal some flat surface to place your toiletries on as had to put everything on the floor. Shame the place doesn’t do breakfast as we had to go out every morning to a cafe. They do evening meals and the battered king prawns were very tasty. Bear in mind this place is very old therefore access to room especially top floor are not accessible to anyone with mobility issues. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Stayed for a weekend and took two of the best rooms on the top floor which is the third floor. The place just has a dirty feel to it — carpets are filthy where their staff traipse upstairs from the kitchen to use the toilet all evening long (see the photo of the filthy carpets). It’s a very old building and there’s one staircase / fire exit, no fire exit signs upstairs and it feels like if there was a fire then there’s no chance of getting out. My review might make it seem like I’ve got some kind of grievance but I really don’t; I’d just avoid staying here if you possibly can.

Stayed one night while walking the SWCP excellent evening meal of in the bar of moules frites well kept Jail Ale and Otters. Comfortable room (2) with a good shower, tea making facilities, fridge and a TV Do not offer breakfast, but there are lots of places nearby that do.
