Trustans Barn

What a great find. We spent a couple of nights at Trustans Barn as we were attending an event nearby. The bedroom and the breakfast room were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Sally and Rosie and their family were very friendly and accommodating and Rosie cooks a very good breakfast too. We'd have no hesitation in recommending or returning.

Last visited here in 2018 and I was concerned that the place might be starting to look a little tired but no need for concern - it is still beautifully decorated and as smart as before. We had 2 rooms, both very comfortable, spotlessly clean with lots of little luxuries and we all slept really well. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of food, both cold and hot. Meet by Sally who was chatty and very helpful. I cannot praise here highly enough and can strongly recommend staying here. Many thanks

We have just had 3 nights at Trustans barn. Everything is great- lovely breakfast, very comfortable room, beautiful surroundings. Rosie and Sally really put themselves out to be welcoming and we loved it. Sad to be home!

We have recently stayed for 4 nights in the ground floor willow room. Very spacious and comfortable with a Superking bed. Trustans Barn is well located near Darsham and very convenient for accessing Southwold to the north and Aldeburgh/Thorpness to the South. Rosie and Sally are excellent hosts and on hand to give advice and recommendations. Nice breakfast to start the day and an opportunity to chat to other guests.

If there were 10 stars I would give this little hidden gem all of them. I cannot fault anything at all about our two night stay apart from we were only there for 2 nights! The check in was easy, Sally met us on arrival, showed us to our beautiful room. Explained about the meadow trail and local places to go and also to eat. Fish and chips by the sea in Southwold on our first evening then back to sit and watch the wildlife and we even saw a Barn owl flying in front of us. The bed & pillows were so comfortable and Breakfast was delicious, cooked by lovely Rosie our first morning with local produce and the eggs were from chickens at Trustans Barn. It was lovely to sit and eat breakfast and chat to the other guests as well as Sally and Rosie. We ate at the Fox Inn which we walked to and it took about 20 minutes. Lovely meal there and cocktails. A good nights sleep again not forgetting the amazing shower which my partner said was in his top 5 showers he’s used! Many of the guest return and I can see why, we will be back as it was such a relaxing stay with all of the little touches that made it perfect.

Very peaceful calm rural setting, nice size room, spotless with lovely decor, bedding, bathroom & shower. Well stocked tray with drinks, biscuits. We loved starting the day with a great breakfast in the meadow tent, it’s a lovely touch. Local food, beautifully cooked. There’s a lovely meadow trail with sculptures to see as well as old trees & wildlife. We visited Aldeburgh (squeezed in Fishers Gin Distillery tour), Sutton Hoo, Dunwich, Southwald, all within easy reach. For evening meals there are places nearby though we loved just sitting outside by the tents with local fish & chips or a ploughman’s we made up. Sally & Rosie are great, as is their team. So welcoming, everyone good to just chat to, they really want to make your stay a great one. Feel lucky to have come across this truly relaxing place.
