Good for stay not bad..but poor wifi connection

There was a disco playing loudly directly beneath the bedroom. The pub was virtually empty so there was no need for it. This wasn't advised when booking and my guest refused to stay there. The TV wasn't working in the room and there were no breakfast facilities. It is described as a B&B!

Staff were welcoming Space to park Room was clean Plenty of towels Window was wide open to took a little while to warm up A good night's sleep until about 6am when there was a strange ticking noise (possibly the heating) that stopped me falling back to sleep

Was away with friends for a weekend in Darlington so we booked 2 double rooms. Rooms above a pub that on the photos looked pleasant and clean but appearances were deceptive. Room 2 our friends stayed in, broken curtain pole, stains against the wall, uncomfortable bed and shower was cold! Room 6, bed uncomfortable and again another cold shower. Left both showers running for 5 minutes and no change! The carpets in the hallway are a trip hazard. Worst of all there the door into the bar was locked and the exit door was locked and we didn't have a key and had to wait until the manager turned up at 9.30am to let us out! What if we needed to leave early?? Fire hazard as well. When we raised all our concerns to the manager he really wasn't interested and didn't offer any apologies. He simply didn't care!! Will book into a Premier Inn next time.

Just what I needed for one night. Shower was a little cool, but I needed to get clean, not wallow!

Great pub. Lively a**osphere. Live music is still quite loud in the rooms until finish time 10/.30/11pm(?). If not your thing may be best to check if there is any music planned for the night of your stay. (My stay was Saturday night)After hours area is very quiet. Limited on site parking at the rear with narrow bays. Additional free parking on the road without issue. Food is available but I gather the kitchen keeps variable hours so if you intended to eat there may be best to check first

We have stayed here 4 times in the last couple of years, cheap and cheerful, well, was, new manager, not very friendly and messed us about, won't be staying again, shame really. The room this time had a half assembled cystern unit that was not fixed, the landing carpet has a flapping gap.

Due to an involvement with problems internationally, I tried to speak to the hotel about postponing or even cancelling. I rang three ( 3 ) times during the week before. The answer machine cut in each time, took my message explaining mitigating circumstances but the hotel never rang back, pure ignorance on behalf of the hotel and its staff. Not good business.

Stayed for one night. Had a room directly above the dart board, pool table and could hear music until late in the night. Walls are pretty thin so could hear the people in the room next to me and opposite. Could hear everyone who came onto the floor of the rooms. Friendly staff and pretty basic room. Had no curtain as it was broken but had blinds. Bathrooms could be updated.
