Kolakham - the Himalayan Retreat

I was there with my family last week. The staffs are very polite and extremely helpful. The food was good . You can take a small trek from the Homestay to Changey waterfalls. Most importantly we are very thankful to the homestays Manager who has guided us throughout our stays and taken very good care of ours. I wish them best of luck for future and would like to visit again.

My stay at himalayan retreat homestay kolakham was nothing short of spectacular. The hotel had a very unique eco-friendly artistic design, the hill view from the homestay was truly magnificent, relaxing and enjoyable. Hotel manager harsh-pal singh was very friendly and caring, food was also very tasty. Nice property and i love their diy workshop and dining area where you can enjoy food with karaoke or playing guitar, it's really fun i enjoyed my trip really well.

After a day of enjoying the surrounding natural beauties, we got a restful night's sleep in the comfy beds and warm atmosphere. Rooms have an amazing view of the valleys and mountains, so got up to breath-taking views every morning. The team really went above and beyond and their hospitality is remarkable. We received warm greetings at arrival and customized care throughout our stay. They were constantly available to help with any inquiries or offer insightful information on the sights and things to do in the area. They provided delicious regional food with genuine flavors from the use of fresh products from local farmers. The Himalayan Retreat offers a range of activities for guests who want to explore the surrounding area. There are several options, such as taking guided treks ***** picturesque paths, visiting nearby monasteries and temples, or simply relaxing in the vast outdoors. One can spend hours admiring plants in their well decorated Patio and Plants nursery or spend time painting rocks at their Art Studio, buy souvenirs, play musical instruments, enjoy board games, access library, karaoke and even rent local dresses. This retreat promises a revitalizing experience, whether you decide to meditate in the peace and quiet of nature or just relax with a cup of tea on the terrace.

Stay at kolakham location wise very good. However, the room lacked some of the basic facilities like # cable tv wasn't working # geyser not available # room heater wasn't available # tea and coffee maker was shown in room picture in mm t website, it wasn't available food was tasty and staffs were cooperative. It's a basic homestay where you can stay for one day but not more than that.

The location and view is wonderful. The food was very costly and not up to the mark. Amenities and hygiene were good. The staff and manager should speak the official languages of west bengal. They openly refused to speak in bengali. Local organic farming is very good and it can be helpful for enrichment of the food menu as the only vegetable available in the food is potato.

Location and property maintenance is very good but quality & availability of food is below average.

Best stay at kolakham, owner mr sandeep is a very passionate person, who loves trekking and lkving with nature. Room were nice spacious and cozy, bathroom was nice. Only the food was much costlier then the quality and quantity supplied. Hope to return someday back here

Thoughts and ideas are outstanding to decorate the resort

The location, scenic view was amazing. Rooms, toilet very big size. Centralised geyser is there. Staffs were very courteous and helpful. Food is also tasty and reasonable price. There was a plant nursery, par-lour also. For children there was a swing, library, indoor games. The dining place so beautifully decorated that one can spend the whole day there. It is a home away from home. I highly recommend this place to others.
