This is an extremely unclean hotel with terrible management; I'm surprised the structure has not collapsed in on itself already. The photos available online are NOT UP TO DATE and the actual hotel has peeling floors, musty old blankets that shed all over your clothes and skin, dirty walls and closets with visible grime on them, and dirty chair seat covers. We did not find it hygienic to step directly on the floor at any point. The rooms we were provided were two floors underground - something they did not let us know in advance. Essentially, we were in a bunker with poor phone signal and no data connectivity. Even worse - There was no reception to speak of besides on small counter on the landing of the first flight of stairs going downward. It was manned by exactly one guy who was not physically there unless called over the phone. On top of this, THEY LOCKED US IN THE BUILDING FROM THE OUTSIDE AND REFUSED TO LET US OUT until morning when some of our team members wanted to go explore the city and take a look at other accommodation options outside. This is far, far below subpar management from any kind of professional establishment. We booked this hotel over the phone for two nights (June 16 and June 17 night). The hotel was so bad upon arrival that we cancelled the second night booking, paid a 20% cancellation charge, and went on foot to find and move to a different hotel on a 2-day trip to Darjeeling. I booked the rooms for 11 people total in my group. Prior communication over the phone and on WhatsApp did not seem suspicious. The price was quoted at INR 2,000 per night. I asked for photos of the rooms and bathrooms and I received the same photos as the ones available online; NOT the dirty, underground rooms that were falling apart. I cannot fathom how an establishment this structurally bad and terribly managed charges anything above INR 500 per night. Had I known what the stay would be like, I would not stay at this hotel even if I were paid money to do it.
