Jetwing Lake is magical. From the stunning grounds, to the pool, to the garden, to the views, to the smell of the fresh morning grass, everything about this place is excellent.  The breakfast menu is very good (local & international) and is served with a lovely view of the hotel grounds. We also visited the spa for a relaxing couples massage (therapists are well trained).  Hotel Manager Nalin Herath was an excellent and gracious host, and he looks after all customers very well.  The rooms are big, and the balcony is massive, as are the bathrooms (tub + shower). No complaints! If you like room service, they've got you covered 24/7. In fact, we had the BEST ever Rice & Curry via the room service menu - you must try it! Travel tip - carry insect / mosquito repellant with you, as Dambulla is a hilly area surrounded by forests/lakes so there's a fair number of insects around.

A nice quiet hotel, with accommodation in ”bungalows” in the grounds. Our room was very large, high and airy, with a mezzanine which we did not use. Facilities are a bit ”tired” and in need of refurbishment, but everything was clean and the room was well provided with toiletries, etc. The restaurant has a large dining area and offers a choice of buffet meals or a la carte. The buffet is quite extensive and offers a good choice of dishes, including omelettes, etc. at breakfast. There is live music at dinner time, and this can be quite loud, so try not to sit too close to the entrance, where the band is positioned. There is also a comfortable bar area with a well-stocked bar - although service can take a little time. The hotel has other facilities, but our schedule was too busy to allow us to use them. The hotel is quite far outside Dambulla, so there aren't any other restaurants or bars within walking distance.

Sundaras Resort Dambulla è un luogo fantastico per soggiornare. La mia moglie e io abbiamo soggiornato tre giorni in questo gemello nascosto, nel mezzo di una riserva naturale. Un grande vantaggio è che Sundaras è così vicino a molte attrazioni turistiche. Usiamo il servizio turistico dell'hotel per visitare luoghi come Sigiriya, Pidurangala e Polonnaruwa. AK (Ekanayake), il nostro guide turistico è stato un uomo meraviglioso con grande conoscenza della scena locale e dei siti storici, per darci descrizioni dettagliate su di loro. La piscina invitante a Sundaras, quando siamo tornati dalle viaggi, la sera calda, era un'altra grande caratteristica. Era così rinfrescante e rilassante. Poi c'era il bar della piscina, messi da un ragazzo estremamente amichevole per fare e servire un delizioso cocktail o succo di frutta. We stayed for 2 nights as a base to visit Sigiriya and the Dambulla caves. Very good location for both. Highlights: friendly staff, super buffet, airy rooms with shaded balconies and a relaxing view over the paddy fields. No big tour groups and a wide variety of visitors. We also loved the spa massages. Don’t let the location near a road put you off. Not intrusive at all and all very quiet in the hotel.
