I stayed here for 1 night at the beginning of a group tour of Senegal and for another night at the end of the tour. Rooms are in ugly concrete blocks. Both rooms were old and dirty. The shower pressure was low and there were difficulties in getting the showers to even work. Bed was probably one of the few things that actually looked clean. Safe didn’t work, phone didn’t work. AC did work. This hotel drastically needs money spent on it as it doesn’t seem to have been updated since the day it was built. There are 2 restaurants both with lovely views. Food was very average and the included breakfast was just ok. The swimming pool is 50 metres long and really is the best thing about the hotel along with its position on the sea. The garden area has some nice vegetation and lots of birds, although I did see some rubbish and old stuff was left in the garden by the hotel staff. A walk into Independence Square takes about 30 minutes. There is nothing near to this hotel so it feels a bit isolated. The WiFi was generally working quite well. With the location and the beautiful pool this hotel could be excellent. However, I was very glad to leave the old and dirty rooms for another hotel.

Just awesome!! From the moment you arrive at the doorstep to the moment your bags are put in the trunk of the taxi we experienced the highest level of hospitallity possible! This stunning hotel will take you breath once you walk through the lobby to the perfect room with an amazing seaview. During our 6 day stay we enjoyed the private beach and sensational swimming pool, the perfect service at the beach & pool and the terrace. Lunch and dinner at the restaurants, in particular the Terrace Restaurant, are excellent. Fine dining while enjoying an wonderful view over the beach and Atlantic ocean. And above all, a bonus for people like us who like to fight the blue marlin and big tuna. Terrou Bi Marina got two magnificent fishing boats moored. Twin Soul and Born Free are available for a great day at the ocean. The professional crew, outstanding service and high quality fishing gear made our fishing trips, trips to remember! The staff at Terrou Bi, from the doorman to the manager are the kindest people you can imagine. They assisted us during our stay in every way possible. From getting nasal spray to booking a trip to Goree, the slave island in front of Dakar. Without a doubt a perfect place for those who seek a week of relaxing and welness. La struttura interna della stanza è stretta, la sensazione è la piastra, non molto isolata, così non ci sono molte persone che soggiornano durante le elezioni generali. Le finestre sono chiuse, non possono essere aperte, la colazione è buona, ma il stile della colazione è in pratica lo stesso ogni giorno

FFannysherlockerWe were blown away by how nice this place was – a veritable oasis in a busy, noisy city. Very trendy and modern with a laid back vibe and African feel. The location in Ngor is great, close to many points of interest, with lots of restaurants and convenience stores located within about 5-minutes walk. The hotel staff were all great, very friendly and welcoming with good English. The rooms are all individual chalets with private courtyards set in African gardens – plenty of privacy. Our room was spacious and modern with all the amenities you’d expect – AC, coffee maker, fridge, TV, hairdryer, etc. The Wifi internet was super fast and we enjoyed the complimentary nuts and coconut cakes. Great bathroom/shower, plenty of space. Everything was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We were surprised to find a relatively well-equipped gym on site, complete with 3 good-quality cardio machines (elliptical, bike, & treadmill), a small selection of dumbbells, and a plate-loaded multigym/safety rack. Also a few benches and other odds and ends. We had some great workouts here. The pool and restaurant are very attractive and trendy. We enjoyed our excellent daily poolside a la carte breakfasts, and ate an evening meal here as well – excellent burgers! There are a few friendly felines roaming the property as well. Overall we had an amazing stay and can’t really find anything negative to say. We would love to stay here again and recommend it to other travelers.

CCurious45327387427Nice place to stay even though it sometimes felt like the middle of a street. The staff were very nice and helpful, the breakfast was healthy and filling, a good start to the day. The location was good for all the places we wanted to visit. Even though the light went of sometimes and the wifi did not always work, I would say we enjoyed our stay here.

UUtente ospiteHotel molto ben situato, nel centro di Dakar, nella zona di Plateau Anche se sono stato diverse volte, mi è sembrata una scelta interessante nel centro. Camere spaziose e soprattutto molto pulite, con un buon isolamento termico e acustico. Nel mio caso mi hanno assegnato una camera - suite, con una buona disposizione. La ricezione pecca di essere troppo semplice e la sostituiscono con una buona attenzione e dedizione. Abbiamo fatto il check-in molto veloce nonostante arrivare tardi. La Wi-Fi funziona molto bene in tutti i piani. La colazione è continentale ma molto abbondante, con tortilla, frutta, succo, tostapane, caffè, ecc. , a un prezzo molto piacevole nel ristorante situato accanto all'hotel. In questo stesso cibo si prende e la qualità è molto buona a un prezzo accettabile e con un personale molto attento.

Lluan1990A few days prior to my stay, I sent an email enquiring about airport transfers as my flight would arrive in the middle of the night. No reply. On my day of arrival, after having organized the transfer myself, I called the hotel to let them know I will be coming very late, and they did pick up the phone and spoke English. (And they finally replied to my email after I had checked in and stayed one night, only to let me know they do not organize transfers and referred me to Hertz...) The receptionists speak English and seem reasonably friendly. Check-in was quick, check-out not so. The room was very bare bones, cramped and ascetic, with a rather strong, musty smell hanging around. The floor was made of hard plastic and was filthy, don't wear white socks! There was no luggage rack, probably because there simply is no room for one. There was, however, a desk and chair, a safe and a bed that's great for one person but would be incredibly narrow for two. The pillows were worn out and lumpy. For a hotel built in 2011, I would expect power outlets by the bed, but that was not the case here. No fridge. A/C worked well enough for December, but won't probably be too helpful in summer. Wifi was free and unlimited, but spotty and slow. Don't plan on teleconferencing here. A 0.5 L water bottle was provided and replenished daily. The bathroom came with no bars of soap or shampoo. There was a wall-mounted liquid soap container on the wall, similar to the ones you can find in public toilets. It said, ”hair, body and face wash”. I guess you could wash your dog, clothes and car with it, too. There was a bath mat and two bath towels, no hand towels provided. Water in the handheld shower was warm and pressure was okay. The carpets in the hallways were in desparate need of deep cleaning. Buffet breakfast was served in the lobby from 6:30 to 10 and cost a reasonable 8000 CFA. It was your usual affair: nothing to get excited about, but it will give you a good start of the day. Some hot and cold items, juices, yoghurt. The fresh fruit was nice and the croissants excellent. The same compound has a Novotel hotel right next door, and their informal restaurant on the ground floor serves lunch and dinner. There is a buffet (dinner 17 000 CFA) as well as à la carte, including the famous chicken yassa. The pool is shared by the Novotel and the Ibis. While their homepage claims it is heated, this was not the case, and in December, nights are cool so the water was a bit cold, but bearable. It was open from 9 am to 7 pm. The pool attendant was a grumpy old man who wanted your room number but didn't understand English, not even numbers. Pool towels were left to dry in the sun and then reused without washing, which is absolutely disgusting. I suspected it at first and then got proof by seeing the attendant simply place used towels to dry on furniture on the pool deck, folding them nicely afterwards. Hotels are supposed to be your home away from home, and in the 10 years I have been traveling, mostly Africa, 34 African countries, and counting, this has been true until King Fahd. My stay in each country is an average of 3 weeks. I get to know the staff and begin to feel welcome and comfortable; there are always small things, but they generally work out with the help of a willing and able staff. This hotel is convenient to work, and as its website boasts, caters to the business clientele, and has WI-FI, if I come back to Senegal, I will stay somewhere else and make do with the traffic. The housekeeping staff at King Fahd will try to accommodate you, and they do as well as possible, given the rules, but the rooms don’t get much of deep cleaning. The view can also be grand, but you have to ask specifically for a room with a view. Ms Khady Diatta at the front desk is always warm and welcoming very professional and made any front desk transaction seamless. Sadly she is but one. King Fahd is uncomfortable from the beginning, you get some help but not without having to beg for help/service from 3-4 different people. They are the most untrained “hospitality” staff I have encountered, and they will tell you what they think you want to hear, not the truth. Zero communication amongst staff. The WI-FI will not work for hours to days, but they will be surprised when you tell them it is not working if you complain to enough people; in my case, 5 people in one day. They sent two people in the AM to confirm the trouble with WI-FI, but they were not IT, and nothing came of it. I Spoke 2 times to the manager (Fatou Naiaye), 2 hours apart, and she told me they had hotspots available. I have never been more uncomfortable after interacting with a manager than with this manager, who became angry, just short of yelling at me after I tried to explain my frustration with the many things promised but unavailable in this hotel. The restaurant for breakfast is a whole other YUCK; the same wet sponge is used to “clean” the table and mat, swipe the mat, but there is a layer of forearm sweat lingering on the tables that, even after I pointed out made the server giggle and made no more effort to clean. There is no spray disinfectant for cleaning. That said, if you show up to breakfast after 7:00 AM, on my first Sunday, they haven’t rid up the tables or reset them, so you have to go look for flatware and napkins as well as a spot to eat, and they literally ask you what you are looking for!! Same breakfast food every day for three weeks. This is when I decided I couldn’t eat in there just take bananas and yogurt; I tried to leave with two pieces of bread on a plate and yogurt with a spoon to my room but was chased down by Maître ď, who took my plate and spoon, now with two pieces of bread in fist and yogurt back to the room. Se vuoi vedere le roccia che correno in fondo al piano in marcia, prenota il tuo soggiorno qui. Se vuoi che un agente dell'hotel ti dica che per riscaldare la tua stanza, apri la finestra di notte quando è più freddo fuori della tua stanza, prenota il tuo soggiorno qui. Solo uno dei 6 agenti dell'hotel ha finalmente spiegato che ci sono tre opzioni di temperatura nella stanza Fan, Calore, Cold. I numeri sul termostato sono senza senso. Tutti gli altri 5 agenti dell'hotel hanno fatto il numero sul termostato come se fosse un vero termostato. In camera mia, il termostato era bloccato a Cold. Nessuno dei 5 agenti aveva idea di come sparare un termostato rotto. Ho consigliato all'agente di front desk Yanique a 5.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm e 9pm che avevo bisogno di tè, zucchero, una tazza. È arrivato a 9.53pm, mi ha svegliato per consegnarli. Non ha offerto scusa. L'agente dell'hotel mi ha offerto una nuova stanza. Dopo aver dormito per due notti, perché la stanza era così fredda, ho accettato l’offerta e ho sbattuto nel pensiero di imballare le mie cose alle 4 della notte, e ha controllato il computer, scrivendo numerose. Ha poi colpito due porte e si sveglia a 4.45am! Stai fuori di qui se vuoi un buon sonno!
