Having booked virtually at the last minute, we were blessed to be able to spend 8 nights at Erw-Lon Farm and be the recipients of Lilwen McAllister's outstanding hospitality. We've stayed in some great guesthouses over the years, but Erw-Lon is the best. It is spotlessly clean, the rooms are a good size and the peaceful location at the foot of the Preseli Hills facilitated excellent sleeping. Breakfast was magnificent, starting with a choice of juices and a beautifully presented bowl.of fruit, followed by a selection of cereals and completed by either a superb full Welsh or other choices, such as smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. All of that was accompanied by as much toast as one can manage, a welcome change from some other guesthouses where one is almost afraid to ask for more toast! In addition after a long day's sightseeing, it was lovely to return to our room to find some biscuit treats each evening, not to mention a full bottle of water to get us through the night. As well as being a marvellous host in all of the above respects, Lilwen has unrivalled local knowledge and was able to point us to places to visit. It is no wonder that her walls are adorned with awards from over the years; she deserves every one of them and more! Overall, we had a great time at Erw-Lon for the aforementioned reasons and because it is a great central base to visit so many nice places, such as St. David's, Aberearon, New Quay, Newport, Dinas Head, Strumble Head, Tenby and Saundersfoot, most of which are within an hour's drive. Thus, the message is simple; come to Erw-Lon to experience the lovely Pembrokeshire coast and the home-from-home that Lilwen has created there.
