The Grove Cromer

Very disappointed with my room here. The chair in my room barely had any fabric remaining on it, it was so worn down. Bathroom was aged with fittings feeling and dust on surfaces. The mattress on my bed (in a tiny box room) was so aged that it caved to one side and made for a terrible night’s sleep. A similar story in the dining room - many of the chairs had collapsed in the middle, and they were also of different heights, meaning you were often sitting at a different level to the people you were eating with! This hotel advertises itself as 4 stars however this is in no way a 4 star hotel. It needs a lot of work to bring it up to that standard.

What's not to like? Orchard room well appointed and quiet Food both at breakfast and in the evening really excellent. Service relaxed but efficient. Lovely grounds and a nice walk through the woods into Cromer ... Very scenic. Great experience....will come again .....and again.

Nice quirky old family run hotel and restaurant - lovely staff and great food. Easy access to cliff tops and 10 minute walk into Cromer town and beaches. Lovely lounge filled with comfortable armchairs to relax in. Large off road car park. Give it a go - you will not be disappointed.

The whole experience was wonderful the food superb, our rooms both inside the hotel and the orchard rooms so comfortable,clean and well stocked with everything to make our stay really memorable. We received a coastal retreat night including dinner and breakfast at The Grove as a joint birthday present. The food was excellent, service good, staff were friendly. However the experience was let down by the accommodation. We were allocated one of the Orchard Rooms. Unfortunately the outside lights outside the window and door were on all night, there was no way we could see of turning them off. The blinds at the window were not effective , there was no blind or curtain at the door, it was very light in the room all night. Inside the wardrobe dirty towels had been left on the floor. It was a shame because the room itself was a good size and nicely furnished. The bed was comfortable, it’s just a pity we couldn’t sleep! We found the outside space to be rather unkempt -several of the tables and chairs covered in bird droppings and the gardens looked as if they could benefit from a good tidy up. We would return to the restaurant but wouldn’t stay here again

We had a very enjoyable stay. The Hotel building is beautiful and is in a gorgeous setting. All the staff we encountered were very helpful, friendly and polite. Our room had everything we needed (comfy bed, perfect temperature, black out curtains and shutters, shower struggling a little but acceptable, chargers and touch control lamps a great addition). We had an enjoyable meal with plenty of local ingredients. Breakfast ingredients were varied and good quality, but we would have benefitted from sharper cutlery.

It's our second visit to the self catering accommodation at The Grove and it has always delighted us. Although this time we didn't use any of the hotel facilities - for personal reasons - but it's a comfort to know that they are there for us. The Bungalow is nicely set up and was very good for my wife who has some mobility issues. We do hope to go back to The Grove in the near future (and maybe the weather will be better!)

This was our first stay at The Grove, we hadn't been to Cromer for 10+ years and thoroughly enjoyed it! We stayed in The Cottage, which was absolutely lovely. There wasn't anything we went without and had a wonderful stay and will definitely be coming back again. We were greeted by a lovely friendly lady at reception who showed us to our accommodation and the next morning we went for a swim in the pool. Having it to ourselves was fabulous it was perfect and nice and warm. The location is great for walking into Cromer, and we also went through the wooded area and did the cliff top walk as well, we didn't want to come home! The Grove is such a lovely place, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Cromer.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and very lovely. Our room was absolutely gorgeous, we had a lovely dinner at their sundown restaurant and a peaceful swim just the two of us in the evening. It was the most perfect weekend break. We couldn’t of been happier with our experience there and we’ll definitely be coming back again!
