The Crooked Swan

We stayed for 5 nights. The room was very nice, with lovely decor and a nice big bathroom. It would have been useful to have had a wardrobe though. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Megan, the General Manager. The food was excellent and the breakfast was in a class of its own - the ingredients were top quality and the home made beans mixture was a real treat! We did find we had to manage things ourselves: eg the toilet seat was broken when we arrived and the cleaners had not reported it, so we had to report it ourselves and wait till the next day to get a replacement; although we were there for 5 days, the cleaners never came into the room to hoover, clean the sink, check the tea and coffee, change the mugs, etc - but the cleaner would do things if we asked. Getting back into the hotel after 11pm is through a locked gate and door with keypad entry. One night the gate keypad didn’t work and there was no phone number to call. We really didn’t know what we were going to do. After about 20 mins my wife gave the keypad a bash and it started working! Megan said the next day that she would arrange for emergency backup in future. The location is very handy but be aware that it overlooks a really busy junction which does get noisy. Small point - they only had full-fat milk, no semi-skimmed. We would definitely go back again, but only for a shorter stay - overall it was a lovely place.

Had the most wonderful Sunday roast here yesterday. My friend and i had a sharing platter of beef and chicken, both meats cooked to perfection. Vegetables, tatties and yorkshire pudding all spot on. We shared a dessert as we were both quite full. Most definitely will return and try the rest if the menu

The Crooked Swan Hotel offers a charming blend of historic character and modern comfort. The staff were exceptionally warm and attentive throughout our stay. A perfect spot for a relaxing getaway—highly recommended!

Room was fabulous, huge bed, gorgeous bathroom, styled really differently. Food delicious & different with some delicious twists on classics. Staff lovely & attentive & helpful with where to park. Courtyard perfect for a sunny afternoon/evening

Wonderful place to stay in central Crewkerne. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Room was exactly as pictured. The room was so unique! Our room faced the street and was a bit noisy at night but we had our window open. Highly recommend!

Disappointing. The crooked Swan food has deteriorated since we were there in September 2024. Painfully thin steak with very skinny chips accompanied by watercress. We asked for some veg or a salad and were given more watercress with 2 shavings of parmesan. Great for rabbits
