Hello hello's- We are embarrassed to note, given how much work our company does throughout the beautiful country of Mexico, neither one of us had been to Cordoba. As we headed from Veracruz to Oaxaca, for work we opted to spend one night at Casa Zevallos on the square in Cordoba. It did not take long ( less than 5 minutes) to realize 24 hours was woefully inadequate to enjoy this amazingly historic city and the magic of Casa Zevallos. It clearly is a treasure designed to sip slowly like aged mezcal. The hotel, boasting a rich history dating to the 17th and 18th century is but 5 distinctly designed rooms each unique based on past residents. I must say....as I wandered off the street to the second floor "check in" I was swept into another dimension of both time and emotion as a subtle tropical fragrance beckoned me forward. We were warmly welcomed and ushered into our abode only to be mesmerized by the quest to make each memorable quarter superb. Definitely schedule one dinner on the veranda overlooking the splendid vista of the square itself.... sunset to after dark is a treat. I struggle to not delineate each and every surprise but .... so many of life's best memories are unexpected so I offer this as your gift. Please go, visit Casa Zevallos, their lovely staff, beautiful rooms and the elegant history of Cordoba. You won't be disappointed.
