Food very expensive and not as good as it used to be. Pica pau full of gristle used to be a favourite. No atmosphere which is a shame and there is definitely something lacking especially when you compare with other pubs in the area. Small cans of tonic why not have a decent size bottle. Bar top area is so sp**** it looks as if everything has been packed away. Can’t say I want to rush back.

Lived in the village for years and the new owners are just ripping people off £9 for a glass of wine which they don't give the proper measure for then argue with you when you question it. Cheaper to get a taxi into town. Let down for the locals who just want a quiet drink

Family lunch. Great starters of sautéed mushrooms and prawn cocktail- expected bread with our delicious prawns and the staff brought out beautiful focaccia when we asked. Beautiful lamb for my husband, the rib of beef was incredibly tender and the nut roast apparently was tasty and really good. Hoping for more cauliflower cheese as a portion next time but such a lovely meal and afternoon. Fantastic to have you back Tomas. Tx

Family enjoyed a very tasty Sunday lunch here. The Royal George has interesting menu choices and always delivers a great roast dinner on a Sunday. From a vegetarian perspective they offer one of the nicest nut roasts me and my partner have ever had. There choice of cheesecake also always goes down a treat.

Stayed with my wife for one night. Check in was seamless, very friendly member of staff showed us to our room. The room was clean and comfortable. Went down to the atmospheric bar about an hour before dinner. Bar service was excellent. Shown to our table and ordered a fantastic dinner. The chef really knows what he's doing! The starters and mains were delicious and my desert, an orange cheesecake, was the best I've ever tasted. Next day, before check out, we had a very tasty breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel and one that we will definitely be returning to.

Perfect in every way!!! Stayed in room 5 which was beautiful. The bed was so comfy and we had a lovely nights sleep. We had a roast dinner which was all eaten. Definitely recommend this place for a nice night away.

Very reasonably priced, lovely dog friendly room for three nights. The shower was excellent and bed comfy. It was nice with the window open on warm nights, listening to the chatter of customers in the garden till silence fell. The breakfast was excellent and it was nice that it could be tweaked to make it individual (I declined the sausage but had more fresh mushrooms and tomato. ).The pie options, we thought was the nicest evening food option, and the dessert of Strawberry Panna Cotta,with fresh Strawberry, sorbet and biscuit crumbs was super. With the addition of an extra chef,this place will go from strength to strength, and they deserve to do well. My request for decaffeinated tea and coffee in the room was sorted on first night, and they helped sort fans, room was quite warm!

When you find a gem you want to keep it to yourself but this would be selfish and the Royal George deserves better. It is a real find with such friendly, knowledgeable and polite staff. We really appreciated the warm welcome we received. Our room was excellent, beautifully furnished with an excellent en-suite and everything wasimmaculately clean. The food menu is imaginative, competitively priced and the standard of the meals is outstanding.Without a doubt we will return again and again. A true gem.

Stayed her recently our room was very and nice clean, very comfortable bed and great shower. The pub is run by vey friendly people very helpful , The breakfast was really nice and good value, would recommend this place and will be returning.
