On a road trip from Brisbane to Canberra, I stayed here 2 nights on the way to and two on the return trip. The Motel is only 10 minutes from the main town of Coonabarabran and is on the road to the Siding Springs Observatory. The motel is on a large piece of land that provides some excellent opportunities for stargazing of an evening. The accommodations are basic but comfortable, though a bit cold when I stayed in June. The rooms all have a reverse cycle A/C but it struggled to cope the nights I stayed, but there were plenty of spare blankets. Water pressure is good but it took a longish moment for thee hot water to come to the tap, but remained strong and hot when it did arrive. There were enough power outlets. The WiFi was intermittent and a little slow when it did work. There is no phone single anywhere on the grounds. There is a service where you can pre-book meals but on each of the 4 nights I stayed they had "run out" of salad. However the food was reasonably priced, hot and well seasoned and I enjoyed having it bought to the door. I would stay again.

The Warrumbungles Mountain motel is 30 minutes and very easy to navigate to the park. The new management are a young couple and very lovely. We loved having a comfortable bed and pillows. Very hot water after a long day. They will help out were possible. Will see you again soon. Thank you.

The motel is reasonably priced, but I think you are only getting what you pay for. The whole complex feels dilapidated, with weedy gardens, stained linen, a dripping tap, curtains falling off their racks and a loads of over due maintenance. The room was reasonably clean, but full of mosquitoes when we arrived and had to ask for bug spray. The room was not cleaned while we stayed there and it is not too easy keeping it clean with the dirt you pick up walking from the car park. The person who checked us in did not seem to know too much about motels. There were no meals, which was a large part of the reason for picking this motel rather than going into town. Lights were left on overnight, which spoils the whole dark park idea.

Last Friday the 13th of December my two young daughters & myself stayed at the warrumbungles mountain motel so we could see the yearly Geminid meteor shower. This motel is the perfect place to stay for such an exciting event, the proximity to the Dark sky park is perfect, our room was huge/spotless, amazing hot shower, playground for the girl, great pool & the staff were very welcoming. The fact you can stroll out your back door to see the amazing sky light up made doing this activity with my girls easy & possible. Thanks so much, we will be back very soon.

Kimberley and Ryan are lovely and were really welcoming and helpful. The family suite was spotless, very comfortable, and lovely and warm. It was also very convenient for the national park and telescopes (highly recommend tour by Brannock at Side Springs). We hope to stay again. Carin

Nice to be out of town, away from the rumbling trucks. Grounds are extensive and very well kept. Nice to have a little walk or sit outside in the sun watching the birds. Accommodation is old but comfortable and exceptionally clean. Self contained aspect is limited. The small gas oven/cooktop in our room was ancient and not fully functional (matches not provided). Gas in bbq ran out before we’d finished cooking. There is a microwave, toaster, jug, limited utensils.

Thank you Ryan and Kimberley we had an awesome few days at your motel, catching up with extended family. This was our third visit and we always love coming back. Comfy beds, clean rooms, bbq outside and plenty of play equipment to keep the kids entertained. Relaxing time spent with family, can't ask for more. This was our third visit to WMM. The property has new owners and a new manager, Ryan and his wife Kimberley. They are very friendly and are working incredibly hard; currenty cleaning, cooking, and maintaining 25 acres by themselves while looking after their 2 young children. Ryan is enthusiastic, has a great work ethic and is definitely an asset to the business. Hopefully they get some staff soon to relieve the huge workload. The motel rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable although some of the kitchenettes and bathrooms require updating. Lovely grounds to have a swim, a BBQ, spot the abundant birdlife and enjoy the magnificent night sky. Very close to Siding Springs Observatory and the picturesque Warrumbungles. The property is now being developed for camping/caravans. Currently there are limited powered sites available and more toilet/shower facilities will be required. We look forward to our next visit and seeing the improvements to WMM.

Very convenient location. Friendly staff. Great budget accommodation. Enjoyed the fish and chips dinner as well. Nicely maintained grounds. Room were were in - the family room - was very spacious, and would be ideal for someone with several children . Shower was a pleasant relief after a long day or driving and sightseeing. Bathroom was very clean. Caught the ABC news on the TV and enjoyed hearing that Fiji beat the Wallabies! Wi Fi seemed fine and no problems. It was a bit of a chilly morning - and the inverter /heat was fantastic. Plenty of hot water as well. There is a pool and a playground. We heard that there are new owners?/managers? And, we wish them all the best of luck with this new opportunity as they sort through any issues with a new business.
