Beachcomber International Resort

We spent a week at Beachcomber International Resort. Our room was on 9th floor so had a small view from the balcony of the beach and water. The pool and spa on the roof had only about 10 loungers but there was no problem getting a lounger. There were more loungers at the pool on floor 1. We went on the Wednesday bus trip to Byron Bay visiting The Farm, lighthouse and town - this was an excellent trip and worth the money. We also like walking a lot so each day did a walk to Snapper point via Rainbow Bay or to Kiera beach. Many options for eating out and Woolworths was about 200m away. Grab a Go card from Tranz agencies for cheap bus travel.

Great apartment for couples or families 1 block back from the beach and has 2 great pools and many other facilities. Apartment was well equipped with everything you could need if you want to cook for yourself otherwise there are loads of restaurants, cafes and surf clubs on your door step. The lovely staff were helpful and friendly. We'd go back to Beachcomber.

Wonderful location and great apartments with everything you could possibly need. Full kitchen and great shower. Bed was comfy but the pull out couch in the lounge could have been a bit better. Nice big balcony to sit in the afternoon and people watch. Great to have a washing machine and dryer and the roof top pool was lovely.

Conveniently located and clean . Great spot to rest and take it easy or engage in all the activities this part of the coast has on offer. Check in was problematic as there was no street parking available and no opportunity to enter the car park until we had checked in. Fortunately , we had a friend who was able to commence the process of check in while we were instructed to wait in a 'loading zone ' behind the hotel which caused issues when a truck approached requiring this space to unload . We were then forced to circle the block until we got card access to the carpark. Not a great start to a relaxing break after a 4 hour drive! The facilities were appropriate for our needs, washing machine and dryer,cooking facilities and quiet location considering it was on a busy thoroughfare ! On our 4th night we unfortunately had the interruption of a fire alarm at midnight to which we took the appropriate action and filed out on to the street via the stair well with other guests and awaited further instruction. We were surprised to receive no such instruction after what seemed a lengthy wait for the fire brigade . Communication was truly a bit haphazard that night . i.e. there was none. We all worked it out for our selves! Trivia and raffle evening was indeed a bit of fun. The very engaging hostess Sharyn was a delight and this establishment is very fortunate to have her! We have travelled alot around the world and apart from a couple of hiccups , Beachcomber provided a very restful break for us for a week.

They say the location makes all the difference and it does! Everything is in an easy walk, beach, surf, groceries, restaurants galore, shopping mall. The Resort is well set up and has everything you could possibly need. Spacious, clean and tidy with a great balcony to watch the traffic and people below. We were in the 3rd floor so now sea views. They also had a free airport shuttle plus bikes if you wanted one. Staff were great. Underground carpark if you have a vehicle. Will definitely stay again.

From the warm welcoming of Sharyn to the farewell we thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay. Awesome view out to sea, clean apartment with full cooking facilities. Don’t need a car when you stay here. So much within walking distance - Shopping, restos, clubs, bars, buses, beach, you name it. Great activities to enjoy - spa, sauna, pool, welcome party, pancake breakfast, bicycles and games room. Maintenance staff go above and beyond to help as well. Staff can arrange theme park tickets if needed. Definitely recommend and would return!
