The Cellars-Hohenort

From the beginning, the Cellars-Hohenort went above and beyond for us. The staff, management and property are exceptional. Nestled at the base of Table Mountain, this property offered a quite reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of dishes being offered and a continental spread available for starters. We will definitely come back and stay at this lovely hotel!

This is one of the most memorable hotel experiences during my 5 week around the world trip. Stayed one night during off peak season in early July 2024 with my kid when the hotel was still Hyatt’s partner. This place is a true and true 5 star hotel and the service was impeccable. Upon check in, Waheib (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) from front desk welcomed me and my son and delivered the great news that our room was upgraded with complimentary breakfast. He then proceeded to gave us a thorough tour of the hotel and explained every features of the room so patiently. This was our 6th country during our long trip and his service was the first of a kind. Thank you, Waheib. The beautiful room was enormous for us. There was a welcome note addressed to me and a welcome gift(bottle of wine) in the room. The towel warmer and extra long bath tub was so relaxing after a wet, cold and exhausting day. Ended up ordering room service for my son and the portion was huge that i couldn’t even help him eat them all. Food was fresh and of great quality. The breakfast in The Conservatory was just amazing. The ambiance just transported me to a different world with floor to ceiling window to enjoy the greenery outside from the comfort of magnificent indoor dining. Food was plenty and staff treated us with warmth, compassion and detail to attention. The fresh press juice was so refreshing and delicious. We later took complimentary shuttle to the botanical garden nearby. Our flight was not until late at night so we ended up eating early dinner there before checkout. The dining manager got me the fresh ginger juice available during breakfast when requested. The dining staff dropped what he was doing and took us around the property when asked for direction. Waheib then checked us out and came out to send us off on our uber. It felt like every staff member was genuinely happy to help hotel guests at any given moment. This service, in addition to the beautiful hotel built in 1700s, was what made this place so memorable even for a one night stay.

The surroundings are stunning and the hotel is nestled in the most beautiful gardens in Constantia. The room was wonderful with everything we needed, comfortable beds, quiet and the room service was fantastic. The food was exceptional with South African favourites and the staff were truly the highlight of our trip as they took care of us and made us feel at home. We will never stay anywhere else when in Cape Town.

CH was the perfect first stop for my wife and I in Cape Town, helping us settle into the city and burn off our jet lag. The room was splendid. The food was some of the best we had in Cape Town. The hotel is a designer’s dream, with amazing decor from Liz McGrath and her team. And the 9-acre grounds, including many gardens, are incredibly peaceful which is only emphasized by the cozy lobby and lounging area. We also found the location to be good, with quick access to greenbelts that led to Kirstenbosch Gardens. Lastly, I wanted to give a special shoutout to the whole CH staff who helped make our stay what it was, especially Marshall. Marshall helped inform us on the Cape Winelands wine scene and was so kind to us that we left so moved and encouraged.

The Cellars-Hohenort is pure perfection in Constantia! From the beautiful setting to the warm and professional service, everything was outstanding. A special thank you to Que & Thulani, who made my stay truly fabulous with their genuine care and attention to detail. And the oysters – wow! Without a doubt, the best of my life. I loved them so much that after enjoying my first eight, I immediately ordered another eight. Absolutely fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable. If you’re looking for luxury, top-class service, and a food experience you’ll never forget, The Cellars-Hohenort is the place to be.
