Bahia Principe Sunlight Tenerife - All Inclusive

Such a disappointing thing to have to write but our stay here was not what we had hoped it would be. To start we paid over £4000 for a family of 4 for a week. We paid extra for the all inclusive plus which should have included 4 a la carte dinners and then we also paid extra for a sea view. The view we got was that of a palm tree, growing onto our balcony, covered in white fungus. I’m all for palm trees but if you’re selling a room as a sea view then you expect to get a sea view. I’ve seen some reviews saying if you don’t like cockroaches then don’t visit Tenerife, this is not our first visit to Tenerife and in the other hotels we’ve stayed at we’ve NEVER had cockroaches in our bedrooms but here we did. The fridge didn’t work on arrival but was replaced when this was reported and a housekeeper was sent with pest spray when the cockroaches were reported but they were back again the next day crawling all over the coffee machine and cups on the dressing table. We left lights on when going for dinner but still came back to them in the room. Cleanliness wasn’t great I think because the complex is so big there’s so much pressure on the staff, blocked drains throwing out dirty water. The entertainment guy was totally AMAZING, the 24hour snack bar, food was of POOR quality and the guy serving was NOT happy and was clearly under pressure on his own. Partner asked for a bit of cheese on his hotdog and was told NO. Which I think is poor with the prices paid. The buffet food had a great variety but was never hot. The a la carte restaurants…We paid extra to get the 4, we got 1. We tried to book the 4 but there was only availability for 2 restaurants at the time to which we were told really we should have booked 2 weeks in advance, this was not made clear when booking. We managed to book the Italian and the grill. The grill, food was of poor quality, burger was mush, salmon was very greasy, and chicken and bacon skewer was gristle. The Italian we didn’t even bother going as our grown up daughter and her boyfriend who had also stayed at the hotel the same time as us went the day before and were served uncooked chicken to which they were sent to a complaints person to fill in a form. Pool bar food quality was as also poor. Overall just VERY disappointing for the money paid and the reviews read beforehand I’m shocked at how they are all so good

Need soft mattresses and soft European style pillows. Food: Good variety and choice with ample A La Carte restaurants to choose from. Environment very clean. Staff: Will do their best to please guests in all areas of the hotel I will be returning and definitely recommend this hotel

Hotel is tired but still a beautiful place. Staff excellent and no real complaints about service other than it can be slow at times. No toiletries provided other than soap and shampoo so make sure you bring your own. Entertainment could be so much better both daytime and the evening although the sister hotel does but on bigger scale shows and musical acts. Location is extremely isolated and unless you like walking and climbing stairs this might not be the place for you. Outside the hotel there is very little but there is a main bus stop at the top of the road. Overall, lovely holiday but not a hotel I would want to return to.

Amazing hotel amazing food,staff amazing we will be back next year lovely hotel the restaurants serve nice breakfast and lunch you can also book to go in the Mexican or Italian and many more our room was a junior suite very nice and clean with a nice few like I say this place is amazing and I will be certainly becoming back next year.

Absolutely fantastic hotel, staff very accommodating great for children of all ages. Rooms are great and large in size, food to cater for every taste. Activities for children are great and to all ages. Had 12yo and 9yo and plenty for them to do. 40 min transfer so close to airport

We stayed for a week as a family of three, and had a great time. No real complaints, only minor niggles. The beds were pretty hard, no drinks after 10pm in the main square & the food at the snack bar was okay, but just as good as other AI places in a similar price bracket. The staff were friendly, helpful & professional; rooms dated, but very clean; the food & drink were decent (although à la carte options welcome) and pool area was spotless.

This is our 3rd time at Bahia Principe Sunlight - we’ve stayed at the sunlight Costa Adeje hotel twice and decided to try the Tenerife this time. The whole complex is just amazing and it really is our happy place. The food and drinks and service are outstanding. Our favourite al a cartes are the Asian and the Italian. We also love the buffet restaurant and the staff are all so friendly and work so hard. We found the bar staff in the Tenerife were a bit ignorant though. We prefer the sister hotel as there is a lot more going on there so we spent our days around that hotel. The cocktail cart is a nice experience too. The whole place is just beautiful and everyone works so hard. The maid was lovely and friendly too. We will definitely be returning next year

Have just returned from the most perfect stay at this hotel! From start to finish I must say all of the staff are a credit to this hotel! From check in, to restaurant service, and cleaning staff as the hotel was spotless. The Entertainment team (My brother Omar, Sasha Fierce the most amazing dancer and Belize) they kept us entertained and were really encouraging even when I tried the water carpet! Loved getting up and dancing the Ciao Ciao Ciao song with them! The food was wonderful, even for fussy eaters. The only a la carte we tried was the steak restaurant and it was so good! The only thing I would change about this hotel, there was only one plug in the room which was a bit difficult for us and the beds were super super hard which I know would be perfect for some people! Definitely look forward to coming back when you re open!
