My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent 5 night stay at the Hotel Quinta Duro. The hotel is located just outside the city center of Gijon on a country estate with a 300+ year old home. The home has been lovingly maintained with much of its original character and charm intact. Quinta Duro is a family owned and operated business and it shows in the attention to detail taken to provide a friendly welcome and a delicious breakfast. Each day, our host, Jesus, took the time to answer all of our questions and to provide a truly outstanding breakfast consisting of freshly baked breads, pastries, and orange juice in addition to a selection of fruit, cheese and ham. Our room was large, clean and comfortable and equipped with a modern en-suite bathroom. I highly recommend a stay at Hotel Quinta Duro. I am confident that most people will appreciate the uniqueness of the property and the value provided by the Duro family.

This lovely hotel is an old family home situated in spacious grounds. We were made to feel very welcome and given all the information we needed. Rather than drive into Gijon which was very busy and tricky to park we walked to the bus about 15 minutes away. It was then an easy trip in and out of the town. There was a lovely restaurant just a few minutes walk away. Breakfast at the hotel was very good. All in all a lovely relaxing few days.

I wish I lived closer so I could stay at this hotel more often! Imagine a full day of walking on the Camino del Norte and arriving at the gates to this stunning hotel. It was perfect in every way. Our host Jesus was extremely charming and very welcoming. This is a family owned and operated business situated on spacious, peaceful and meticulously maintained grounds. Jesus was very attentive and answered all questions about the house and his family history. The house is beautifully decorated with family portraits, antique furniture and proudly displayed on the upstairs level is a letter written by his great grandfather to Woodrow Wilson. Our room was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. The bar fridge was impressively stocked. My friends and I especially enjoyed the Codorniu Benjamin Cava which we shared in the comfortable main floor living room. The breakfast was generous and nicely presented. It was truthfully a most enjoyable and memorable stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Jesús was a wonderful host, filling us in on his family history of this lovely property. The grounds are very peaceful, with many stately trees and a beautiful patio. We would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone that is looking for a quiet, quaint and comfortable stay in Gijón.

We love this hotel The building is several centuries old, and has been in the family for generations. They have converted this to a fabulous boutique hotel, full of character. The Staff is very attentive and lots to share about the house and antiques around the house including a letter from US President W Wilson! The rooms are comfortable and immaculate. There is a guest elevator and they have done a fantastic job with all the safety upgrades needed to convert this majestic home into a hotel! We had a great breakfast each morning and loved walking around the impeccably maintained grounds. There is easy access from the A-8 highway. And google got us straight to the gate. Easy access to Gijon.
