The lake front cove was nicknamed Turtle Cove years ago as turtles come ashore each year to lay their eggs and bathe in the sun. Some of the lily pads have been preserved to keep this area as the turtles prefer it, as well as rumored to be one of the best fishing spots on the lake. Swans nest near the cat tails on the side and we are generally the first to see their signets as they hatch each year. There is plenty of clear water to enjoy the lake and activities as well as enjoy the beauty of nature the cove offers us. There are two restaurants, an ice cream shop and bike rentals on the lake. These areas are each a one mile drive located on the east and west ends of the lake. In the fall enjoy the beautiful colors, quiet walks and slower pace that Clarklake has to offer.
