TWO LANES GUESTHOUSE is officially open to the public! This jaw dropping, 2nd floor walk-up apartment (no elevators) is located above a bike shop on the Columbia Town Square in a historic brick building that dates back to 1857. On Valentine’s Day 1945, a south Georgia born boy and a young Sicillian woman from Wisconsin, met across a hotel lobby in Milwaukee. He, a classically trained violinist and she, an elevator operator with poems in her heart and stars in her eyes. It was love-at-first sight and they wed that night. To get by in between gigs, young and starving newlyweds wrote songs that they sent off to everyone in Billboard magazine. Their first hit, Country Boy was being performed by Little Jimmy Dickens at the Grand Ole Opry as they pulled their dilapidated trailer and two baby boys into Nashville’s Rainbow Trailer Court. Boudleaux and Felice Bryant went on to get 800 songs cut, including hits such as Bye Bye Love, Wake Up Little Susie, Rocky Top, and All I Have to Do is Dream. As Nashville’s very first professional songwriters, they have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Nashville Hall of Fame, and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and have garnered dozens of awards. Muletown’s Retreat is in a quaint well established neighborhood and a hop skip and a jump from the heart of Muletown’s downtown district. Walking distance to many Restaurants, Hangouts, Antique shops, Coffee Shops, Breweries, Wine tasting, Boutiques, Bars and other unique shops and even a Church. First Friday’s the downtown has food trucks and the local downtown businesses stay open later. The farmers market is right around the corner for fresh veggies. There is a splash pad that the kiddos love within walking distance. An outdoor fitness area also is the perfect way to get in a nice workout right around the corner. There is an entrance to Riverwalk at the end of the street and a nice place for a leisurely stroll or a great place to walk Fido. There are many little paths and entrances to fishing holes. Frank’s shop has fishing passes and live bait to use with the fishing poles and cooler provided by Muletown’s Riverside Retreat. Get some snacks have a picnic and try some fishing for the day. Online fishing permits / passes are available with a smart phone. The property has a charm all its own with a retro feel while remaining a nice Retreat from it all. The small privacy fenced back yard hangout is my favorite place to unwind. We have a picnic grill and a one of a kind fence bar out back. There are smart tvs in all the bedrooms and the living room and recreation room with YouTube tv, Netflix all waiting for you. Pool table , mini fridge and lots of board games all found in the recreation room. Take the cornhole boards out and enjoy some down home fun! We have provided a couple of bicycles for you to cruise the neighborhood or downtown area or load up and enjoy biking and hiking trails nearby. This 1969 Ranch style home is a home away from home you won’t want to miss. Everything about it is completely brand new while keeping it’s vintage 70’s feel. This newly renovated and professionally decorated home could not get any better. The fun wallpaper and colors are a delightful change you just must experience for yourself. With the perfect outside area including a hot tub, firepit, lounging set, screened in back porch, outside bar, activity center with a ping-pong table, human chess, or checkers, and spacious fenced in backyard. There is something for any and everyone. Inside there is an open layout intended for quality time with your loved ones. There are 3 queen size bedrooms and one full size bedroom.
