Hotel in zona Praia Grande, Colares

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel. It is well located in Sintra and presents very nicely (modern lobby decor, good views, large rooms), however we found the service at this hotel inadequate in the following respects: 1. Parking. We came to Sintra in a hire car. I chose this hotel because the booking.com website said that private parking was possible on site at a cost that we were willing to pay. I emailed the hotel before our arrival to arrange for parking but they never replied to my email. When we arrived there was no parking anywhere near the hotel so we parked a long distance away. When we reached the hotel I asked about on site parking and was told that none was available due to a private event being held at the hotel which was scheduled to finish by 8pm that evening. The woman at reception was very haughty and unhelpful, when I asked whether we could get a parking spot after 8pm she just dismissed my request. We ended up leaving our hire car parked a fair way away which was OK for us as we are used to hiking long distances uphill but if you have any mobility issues or are with young children this situation would be a nightmare. 2. On our third day our bath towels were not changed until I specifically asked at reception at about 5pm. Apparently they had had a problem in the laundry. When bath towels were finally delivered they were damp. 3. The toilet in our room took an unusually long time to refill after flushing. 4. The holders for the bath wash, shampoo and conditioner in the shower were very flimsy, one of them fell off as soon as I applied for some soap. If I were to revisit Sintra I would look for somewhere else to stay.

Un ristorante familiare pieno di bambini, probabilmente adatto per le loro esigenze, non per le nostre, purtroppo. Non è davvero la migliore esperienza per un paio di tentare di godere del loro soggiorno. Una piscina piena di bambini, sia all'interno che all'esterno, non si è conclusa nuotare. Il ristorante ha un buffet o un piccolo snack al bar. Ci siamo pagati 15EUR ciascuno per una salada ”cesar”, con gli ingredienti: lettuce, crutoni di pane, alcuni bacon bruciato, pollo simile a un pollo preconfezionato da Lidl, non congelato dal congelatore, e salsa di cesar. La colazione ha avuto altre scelte, e piacevolmente alcuni frutti freschi, ma nessun succo fresco come in tutti gli altri hotel durante il nostro soggiorno in Portogallo, solo il succo arancione più economico che si può ottenere. Anche se il personale era molto bello, il resort è molto corsa verso il basso guardando e le camere sono molto basilari. Probabilmente un soggiorno ok per una famiglia con bambini piccoli, coppie cercano altrove.

We booked for an overnight stay to see the EDPjazz concert in Cascais. My partner booked it and specified that she needed a low floor as she suffers from vertigo. On arrival we were told we were on the 4 th floor. Oops. Not a good start. The receptionist was very helpful and we said we would leave our case and go for lunch. The replacement room was on the ground floor facing the pool . Unfortunately the smelly rubbish bin with all the cigarettes ash was right in upside the window. The pluses . We had a working fridge ( unfortunately it made a generator noise all night) but the room was clean and beds comfortable. Air con and tv in room. Breakfast was good. Better than some 4 star hotels we have stays in . Would we stay again for a short break, probably yes. Car parking in the street by the hotel was free as some roads in the area were not. Very friendly staff.

Cordiale con i clienti e con i colleghi, il che è stato bello vedere che ci torneremmo quando torneremo quest'anno per una piscina per battesimo, era bella e fredda, è come il clima del Regno Unito ma troppo freddo per una nuotata, ma sarebbe stato fantastico se fosse era un po' più caldo
