Side Star Resort Hotel - Ultra All Inclusive

Arrived early evening after smooth arrival from UK c/o Jet2. Hotel was 1st drop off from Antalya airport, some 50mins away. Weather upon arrival was lovely! {however this was about to change quite dramatically!} Impressive reception area, very Egyptian looking - a theme that was seen thru hotel and outside..Staff during our stay were wonderful - from our housekeeper right thru to customer relations [who asked of our opinions of the place] Plenty of options of food incl 3 a la carte restaurants, all of which we tried and loved..The room was well furnished, airy and bright - we opted for a top floor sea view and were not disappointed at all...nice big bed, free mini bar, walk in shower, plenty of storage space for your clobber Several bars - main one was near reception, there was one in the disco bar, the room where entertainments took place, and of course the pool as well - beach bar was shut, [end of season maybe?] From 1am on the Tuesday we were there, the weather took a turn for the worst - as the storms that had battered Athens and Greece, scampered along the Med coast Eastwards and stopped above Side - for three days, it poured incessantly, the thunder and lightning were both mesmeric and frequently scary Any thoughts of jumping on a Dolmus into Side were put on a back burner thanks to the no go anywhere weather, {Dolmus stops outside hotel - its the number 5 for either side or Manavgat} So we chilled with several good books, the IPod and a very nearby bar! I cannot comment on what was outside hotel as [again] due to weather we stayed put! Thru out the hotel was spotless, and the toilets were also too [always a good sign] The hotel also possesses a row of shops incl Jewellers, Hair salon, gift shop and one dealing with spectacles.. Down a floor gets you the massage and sauna with the indoor pool. The walk to the nearby beach is reasonably easy and short, towards the beach it does get slightly steep - but not of an issue to the majority i would say however, courtesy bus is available if required. Several wheel chair users were seen at the hotel - of which were catered for fine... Only minus for us was the weather - a factor no one can control...in room flat screen TV has limited Brit channels , but there's always BBC World to fall back on for events happening back home... Great Hotel, Amazing Staff, Plenty of facilities to occupy you if weather crap, yeah... we'll return! [but not in late Nov lol!} Oh and the EFES Beer is excellent!

Brilliant hotel and animation team are all lovely and great to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Room adequate plenty of room and lovely view. Food was really good, great variety for all. Great waiter/waitress service, very friendly. Thank you aysegul and niko

We had a great holiday stay here in January. From checking in to checking out all staff have been amazing. Great clean room, great food, great staff, everything has been 5*. So much so we have already booked for next year. The hotel was busy with football teams, so not many attended the entertainment in the disco, it would be better if the entertainment could be in the lobby.

Very bad service, bad masine for coffe, terrible worker in hotel, Beach is soo far from hotel, advice to go on another hotel in Antalya, food is good but not to much choise for sweet and meat. That must be better because i'v been in man hotel in Antalya and this is the worst

We came to this hotel on a recommendation from my dad from last Christmas. We cannot fault the hotel. Always clean and tidy. Maintenance are always doing something. The rooms were fantastic We had a family room with a sea view from the balcony. 2 rooms one for us and one for kids both with TV. Mini bar and room cleaned daily. The hotel food is great always a good choice and cooked fresh in front of you. The bar staff and waiters couldn't do enough for you always making sure you had drinks. Special mention to Kadir and Servgi bot assets to your hotel. Only downside was the main pool was freezing nobody swam in It only the old child jumping in and straight out to the warm slide pool. Well where to start had an absolutly amazing new year at side star resort. Food wise was so much option at times at buffet I got overwhelmed luckily had option of pool snack bar where you could have fresh made toasties jacket potatoes pastas and the best fried chicken I've ever eaten! Patisserie for coffee and cakes and the indoor snack bar aswell as choice of 3 al a carte restaurants we only managed to get into the Turkish but it was delicious!! Next the room was lovely family room consisted of two bedrooms a large wardrobe with free to use safe toilet and shower room and two seperate balconys along with a mini bar topped up daily which was kept spotless our cleaner unfortunately went off before we got her name but decorated the bed with a swan and flowers nice touch! In the area about 5/10 mins walk is shops supermarkets tea and spice shops and tattoo shop I went to them all and just lovely and right outside hotel buses to side old town and manavgat city 2 euros each we went both and had great times. Downstairs is the gym arcade entertainment room and disco arcade decent kids enjoyed it entertainment was good and mixture of singers and dancers disco room is so fun like an old styles disco with lights and good mix of music didn't use gym but looked decent. Upstairs bar was nice and chilled with soecialist cocktails which were really lovely and lots of cats am not even a cat person but they were so tame and friendly. indoor and outdoor pools were great my youngest loved the slides which we were made up were open as I'd read they wudnt be so great bonus! Beach was stunning and i liked the off ground area (i assume its a bar being renovated) as i hate sand so i could sit and daughter could play in the sand. Also spa looked lovely but i got a tattoo done so couldnt have the turkish bath i wanted. Little one really liked the park too just shame trampolines wernt open. New year was the most amazing party I have ever been too what a treat from the welcome cocktails to the meal and entertainment to the countdown outdoor party with prosecco I will remember it always. And finally to the staff the day to day running of the place must employ so many an I will say most have a smile on their face always the new years staff worked so hard they didn't stop for a second all night. The cleaners and maintence are the same and the bar staff are just unbelievable I have special mentions for the lady in downstairs bar I didn't get her name but she was very good very attentive and very friendly and the other will be no suprise Kadir what a lovely young man my daughter loved him by day 2 he remembered all our names and always checked at 10 to 12 if we needed anymore drinks. All in all was honestly one of best holidays I've been on (think weather being so good was a bonus) but I really do hope to get booked in to come back next year.
