Long review of West park Hotel Clydebank…and starting with a positive The Good – The address on their website is correct. The Bad – I made a booking for 7 rooms, multiple nights, at this ‘Hotel’ for my workers at a total cost of £1835.00, this was a mix of Chalet rooms and Hotel rooms due to the amount of rooms we required. 4 of our 7 rooms were the chalet rooms, all the guys without exception said they smelt damp, stuffy and were extremely dirty…one used the communal showers on our building site rather than getting into the shower in the chalet as it was cleaner on our site. I have attached pictures of one of the chalet bathrooms where the floor is clearly dirty and breaking up and the shower is filthy. On leaving the chalet room in the morning and opening the door one guy saw cockroaches…this must be known to the hotel as when it was raised they were verbally advised (and via email) that they have ‘weekly’ checks from their pest control company. He was after much heated debate moved to an alternative room, at additional costs, same day! One of our guys arrived after 5pm to check-in, after seeing the room he went to speak to a member of staff regarding the ‘cleanliness’ of the room…unfortunately he was advised by the barman that he, the barman, was the only member of staff there and no-one else would be in till at least 8am, so after the barman finishes there are no staff members left at the hotel to deal with any issues. It was also at this time we found out the restaurant was not even open, no mention on the website, so would have to head out elsewhere to eat…possibly a blessing in disguise! 3 of the rooms we had originally booked for 9nights, however as the accommodation was far below what we would expect our construction workers to have to endure we checked them all out after 4nights and moved them to an alternative hotel. Staff at the hotel were not apologetic and basically did not care one iota that the standards of the hotel were 1 star at best. The Downright Ugly - We requested a full VAT Invoice on 3 occasions for the £1835.00 paid as we had been emailed basic Invoices/Receipts only. My last request advising it was a Legal requirement was not answered in writing, however, I had the most unpleasant lady call to advise she did not appreciate me telling her it was a legal requirement for a VAT registered Company to produce an actual VAT Invoice on request and the emailed Invoices I have in front of me are not registered at their end anyway. She said that if I was that bothered about a VAT Invoice I should just handwrite on their printed Invoices how much VAT as they would not produce anything else. There was no reason for her rudeness to a legitimate request and I find the defensiveness very telling of how they operate the hotel as a whole. Thankfully her last comment to me was to ‘never email, call or try and book any more rooms at our hotel ever again’…this at least saves me from having to wait for HELL TO FREEZE OVER befor
