Gulf Way Inn Clearwater

I stayed here for two weeks with my sister and enjoyed every minute. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are cleaned every day and clean towels every day. Grocery store next door, bus at street, If I ever come back to Florida I will definitely stay here.

After being stuck because really where are you going to go at 1 am. During spring break week. We got up the next morning and reached out to ******* who we booked through about the problem. The management offered 1 night refund if we left that day instead of staying the second night which was the ultimate plan as i was totally over it after a roach fell on me in the shower. THIS HOTEL IS DIRTY AND GROSS DO NOT STAY HERE. The sad part is they know they have a roach problem and dont care. Attached are pictures from the bathroom, the kitchenette countertop and the side of the sink just outside the bathroom. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID. My Birthday weekend ruined as we had to go home early . If they had a 0 star I would put that I never leave crappy reviews and I travel a lot and this is the WORST hotel I have EVER STAYED IN

Loved the location. Close to many shops. Only 15min drive to clearwater beach. Room was clean There was a stove in our room, which i didn't know, but i wish they had a few pots/pans or dishes to use. As it is pointless to have a stone and no dishes. No coffee maker in the room.

Mold smell. Toothpaste spit on curtain by sink. Put towel on pillow to sleep. Loud outside the room til 2 am

Arrived about 4pm, office was not open. Sign saidpush outside button for service - small window opened for manager's response. Brought to mind that maybe this area wasn't safe. During a 3 day stay, house cleaning never once entered the room to my knowledge. Even thought I was gone each morning and afternoon. Service person seemed to wait until I was at the door or in the room and asked if service was needed. I did manage to get fresh towels one day. Building is old, some attempts at being modern have been upgraded. There is a hair dryer, ironing board and iron, nice refrigerator, microwave and large TV. No drain control for the sink and the bathroom tissue holder is broken. Place looks good in the photos but the devil is in the details. If you want morning coffee, you have to drive about 4 blocks to Dunkin Donuts. No in room coffee.

In one word NASTY! From the moment we pulled in and saw a couple doing crack on the North stairwell, kind sums it all up. Then I pulled up to the check in office, and although the sign said OPEN, it was in fact closed. So I ring the bell, and this clearly perturbed older brown man opens an 8 inch by 11 inch window and says yes? I said I'm checking in. It was obvious that I interrupted something of his. He asked for my ID and said 2 to check in? I concurred. He then proceeded to give me one pass, for a room that he thought was ready. I asked him for a second card and then I got that nasty look from him once more. Let's just say I did not feel welcome here at all. Then we go to our ready room? after being on the road for 10 hours, we just needed somewhere to change and relax. OMG what a nasty room this was. Now I know this was rated 2.5/5 stars, but I would not give it more than a half a star at best. The pillows had no pillow covers and they were stained. The mattresses had what appeared to be blood/rust at the bottom, no bed bugs, but nasty. I had to find a maid to get me pillow covers. There were cigarette burns in the sheets and mattress. The Fridge/Stove were ugh at best and the shower pressure did not exist. Since we had plans for that night, we decided to stay at the least that night and leave in the morning. Upon returning to the motel that night from our plans, lo and behold the crack smokers were still there. We did not feel safe. We did not feel clean. We put the table and chairs up against our door, which did not shut very well and did not have a secondary lock on it. That was broken too. We slept on top of the sheets as to not catch anything. We showered in the morning, and then I called my agent and asked to switch. Much to my surprise, the owner accepted my cancellation request. We left first thing in the morning and moved to a hotel. My rating would be 1/2 out of 5 for just the location, but that's as high as I would go. In one word NASTY. You'll regret staying here. Pay a little extra and go somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Management was very accommodating. They provided us with a toaster and made sure there was fresh towels daily. They tried hard to please us and we are very appreciative.

Inn was right on the main road to clearwater beach and Pier 60. Walmart was just a block away. Very old place but nice and clean. Nice tv with great selections. Fridge and microwave were nice. There were some people hanging out outside room next to us, were friendly but made me a little nervous. Overall a nice place to stay for a night or two while visiting the clearwater area.

Great area to hang around, hotel room is good for short stays.
