After a day of driving through flooding and heavy rain, the warm greeting we received brightened our day. Check in was quick and informative. The room was huge, well equipped, very clean and comfortable. The view was good but not in the rain and we couldn't make use of the patio area but it looked good. We ate at the pub and again the food and service were very good. Breakfast is served in the pub quality and quantity was very good. We will be going back.

Spacious and modern suite. With fridge and table with outside space with table and chairs.. fabulous view of hills. This a spacious block built separate from the restaurant with brilliant views. The restaurant has a unique menu. Our choices were superb. Next morning we had an individual cooked to order breakfast. We’re already planning our next visit.

What a lovely place.. small country pub, with 8 amazing rooms to the rear overlooking the valley. The rooms are as good or even better than any 5star hotel. Spacious, lots of storage, very modern with a huge bathroom and really lovely vibe. Amazing terrace for a sunny day. Food in the pub great and service very efficient. Highly recommend!

Nothing more to add to the very complementary comments already posted. Faultless. Pedestal fan provided, curtains closed on arriving on a 30c plus evening. No need for air conditioning. Seriously if guests cannot pack their own fan in their car, 'just in case' they really should stay at home during hot weather. Breakfast and evening meals excellent. We will return. BTW book direct.

We had a wonderful one night stay at The View, we were so impressed as soon as we arrived as to how spacious, beautifully furnished and decorated our room was. We were lucky with the weather that evening and were able to relax and enjoy the fabulous view of the surrounding countryside. It was our wedding anniversary and we had a superb dinner in the restaurant, every course was delicious. All the staff we met were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Breakfast the following morning was freshly cooked and very tasty with plenty of choices. The White Horse is in a great location, lovely and quiet, we slept really well, but not far from so many places of interest, Bakewell was only a short drive away as was Bolsover Castle and Hardwick Hall. We would thoroughly recommend The View at The White Horse and hope to stay there again.

The rooms are large and all have great views over the valley from a private outside area, they are very clean and well furnished. great value for money. The food is good and the staff are all especially helpful. I would definitely visit again when in the area.

Having stayed here several years you always wonder if things might have changed? Here we were delighted to see that the same quality, cleanliness, comfort and attention to detail has been maintained. This is credit to the owners and also their great staff. Our supper and breakfast was prepared with care, served by lovely staff (our evening server was a school teacher....just wish i'd had her when I was at school!) who helped out and had a wonderful sunny disposition. The presentation of the cooked breakfast was excellent. A very quiet room with a great comfy bed, linen and pillows made for a great nights sleep and also some enjoyable canoodling. The bathroom is vast and spotlessly clean. We woke to snow on the hills in the distance and had a leisurely breakfast. They even had a decent quantity of fresh milk in the fridge! The owners take pride in their hospitality and it shows in everything they offer. We will return....

Practically perfect in every way! We stayed in the luxury suite, sadly for just one night. We'll book for longer when we come back in the Summer. Complete peace and tranquillity and lovely views, even on a dark and dingy day. The room is huge with everything you need. Tons of storage, enormous bathroom and a huge, extremely comfy bed. The evening meal in the attached pub was outstanding and the breakfast was spot on. The hosts are truly lovely as were all the staff we encountered. This place is hard to beat!
