Days Inn by Wyndham Clanton Al

I selected this property based on its Trip Advisor reviews and it did not disappoint. We only needed a place for one night and the Inn of Clanton fit the bill. The room was clean and had everything we needed for showering and a night’s sleep. Granted, it doesn’t look like one of the national chains, but I would have no problem staying here again. The Desk Clerks were friendly and provided a quick and easy check in and out.

One of the worst hotel condition experiences ever. One of the best hotel staff experiences. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, and the room had technically been cleaned, but the physical condition of my room was very poor. Ask for a room that has been updated. You'll thank me later. I tend to be suspicious when a hotel leaves the AC running so it's really cold in the room. I had to look for something on the floor and while I was down there, I noticed the awful musty stink from the old carpet. Even walking around in my socks, they became damp from the moist carpet. Later, I tried to wipe up a small amount of body powder that went on the carpet and the rag turned brown. It was as if there is mud embedded in the carpet. Eeeeew! Obviously, the carpet in that particular room was in desperate need of replacement. There were sounds of remodeling going on in the adjacent room, and I hoped this room would be next. On the positive side, there is a beautiful outdoor swimming pool and the grounds are well maintained. For the price, it was nice to get their breakfast buffet voucher at the restaurant next door.

We were quite happy with Inn of Clanton, Clanton, KY. The room was very clean, the people at the desk were pleasant and patient. We had booked a reservation through ******* about 3 hours before our arrival over the phone. The person taking the call was difficult to understand due to a heavy Asian accent. Not their fault, but I have poor hearing and have trouble with accents in general. Apparently she had trouble understanding me as well. I was put on hold 3 times, long holds, then had to repeat myself a lot and the whole transaction took 20 minutes for something that shouldn't have taken more than 10. When we arrived, they had no reservation. I was exasperated and just wanted a room but they insisted they had to find the reservation because they would owe a commission. It was finally concluded that the reservation didn't go through. I'm afraid I wasn't as pleasant as I could have been. But they were good. As I said, the room was very clean, pleasant, comfortable beds. The Inn is next to a Shoney's restaurant that we went to for a good evening meal. The Inn provides guests with a breakfast voucher that you get at check out for a breakfast buffet at Shoney's that was great. Much better than any breakfast we've gotten at other hotels. If I'm going through there again, I would make it a point to stay there.
