Belle Green Bed and Breakfast

Just spent a lovely couple of nights at Belle Green .We were warmly welcomed by Ann and shown to our room which was lovely with a window seat and view of the garden .We had a good sized bathroom with walk in shower cubicle .Well stocked tea/ coffee tray with delicious homemade shortbread .Very comfy bed .Cosy residents lounge with roaring open fire . We had the best cooked breakfast we have ever had and it literally did set us up for the day ! Ann and Steve are lovely hosts and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area .Thankyou Ann for recommending Tarn How’s yesterday morning the views were truly spectacular. We will definitely be back when visiting this area of the lakes again and will recommend you .Thanks again John & Janet.

Our stay at Belle Green was only for one night but, we could not have been made to feel more welcome. Situated away from the main road that passes through the village, this is a lovely B&B set in lawned gardens with views across the village to the hills. Lots of nice touches in the room (Yorkshire Gold teabags appreciated!) and a hearty, freshly-cooked breakfast. We also discovered some superb walking in the surrounding fells. Altogether a brief but, highly enjoyable stay and we will certainly be returning.

We spent a very pleasant 6 days here. Steve and Ann are great hosts and made us feel right at home. The room was great, very clean. The breakfasts had a great menu and were first rate. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

What an absolute gem of a place. The location is just in the most breathtaking spot, within a stones throw of Beatrix Potter’s Lake District home. There’s a pub just down the road which serves delicious food and quality ales too. The bed was so very comfy, and the host had thought of everything! Super big bath for two. The breakfast was fit for a King (or Queen) We will return later in the year.. the whole experience was just perfect. Cannot recommend this place enough…it really is perfect.

This is the loveliest place to stay in The Lake District. Beautiful rooms, amazing breakfast, lovely hosts Anne & Steve have thought of everything you need, wine glasses, corkscrew, torch, hand sanitizer, lovely toiletries and homemade shortbread biscuits. We have stayed several times, and hands down wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting this part of the country. Always a roaring log fire in the guest lounge. Walkable to Hill Top (Beatrix Potter's house) and to the local pub The Tower Bank Arms, and The Sawrey House hotel which both do evening meals. 5 minutes drive to lovely Hawkshead where more places to eat and nice gift shops are available. Hosts are also eager to recommend walks and other good places to eat. Brilliant base from which to explore the beautiful South Lakes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Anne and Steve at Belle Green. A beautiful whitewashed old farmhouse which has been tastefully decorated inside. Our room was comfortable and clean, though the mattress was a little hard for us, and the bathroom was quite large and immaculately clean. Loved the complimentary toiletries and was glad to see they were refillable. The homemade shortbread buiscuits were yummy and it was lovely to have fresh milk for our cups of tea. We were made to feel very welcome, including our dog who stayed for free. Had a wonderful, fresh cooked breakfast every morning which set us up perfectly for a nice long walk in the stunning, surrounding countryside. Would definitely recommend and would certainly stay again. We recommend that you make dinner reservations at the local pub prior to arriving as they are very popular but small. Hawkshead is also good for evening eateries with a few places taking walk ins.
