The hotel property was very nice and the hotel is a little quirky which is what you'll love about it. Our room overlooked a cemetery which was absolutely beautiful and we were staying there to visit Sleepy Hollow so it was a very nice touch! The rooms were beautiful and reminded us of the 21C hotels we've stayed at. The only thing we felt needs improvement was the parking, or the lack there of. There is a restaurant attached that brought in a lot of people to fill what parking spots are available. My husband had to drive around for about 30 min until he found someone leaving the restaurant to get a parking spot.
Well, to start with, if you're staying in the front part, the parking is simply bad. It's so cramped and hard to get in and out of. It's just laid out so poorly. Secondly, we reserved a room with a king bed. Got a room with 2 full size beds.Motel seemed to be full so we didn't request a change, but honestly, we shouldn't have had to. My husband booked this leg of our trip (3 nights here-- shudder!) and he was trying to save money, but some things aren't worth saving money for. The walls AND the carpet AND the sheets were stained. The mattresses were very thin-- 6-8 inches-- and so bouncy that every time you roll over it felt like the bed was going to expel you. There was no comforter or even blanket really, just a top sheet and very thin coverlet, and when we got there, the heat hadn't even been on all day and it was a late October evening, so it took some time for the room temp to even be comfortable. There was a mini fridge but we didn't discover until day 2 that it wasn't even plugged in. There was no disposable bag for the ice bucket, so we didn't dare use that. The only good thing I can say is that the bathroom at least LOOKED nice, but my husband couldn't get the shower to maintain it's temperature at all. It maintained for me, but was too hot no matter what I did. It was just comical. I don't think I've ever stayed at a place this NOT GOOD before. Was very pleased to finally leave and head to our next hotel, which I chose.

Stayed over the weekend and the service was by far the worst I’ve ever experience. Let’s first start with, The front desk agents. Their attitude and inability to compromise their mess ups was ridiculous. The elevator went down and their solution was to move my family from the second floor, to the third floor. Common sense says, we have 300 rooms, with maybe 12 guests if that. Why not move us to the first floor, considering my wife is handicapped and has troubles with stairs?!? Bunch of clowns and Absolute ******. Secondly, the room keys failed to let us in the facility not once, not twice, but three times. Such a joke. Not one soda machine in the facility worked. The room I originally booked, showed a couch, with a full kitchen, dinning table w/ chairs. When we walked in the room, we had nothing of what they advertised. Their excuse was they changed their room arrangements 6months ago! That seems a little like false advertising since I purchased back in May. Their solution to the whole situation was a 15% refund. WHACK!! Ohh, we didn’t get shower towels, we were given face rags, represented as a towel. Never seen such a small shower towel????? Taking a shower was quit the time, felt like you were in a ******* house with how the light would just flicker. Hope you don’t have epilepsy. The last thing I will say is that they advertised a full restaurant and a gym. Can you imagine what was wrong with them? You guessed it right, they weren’t operational. The only thing that seemed decent and clean was the pool. I guess the light at the end of our tunnel was very small.
So frustrating and seriously disappointing. A gorgeous location with views of the Hudson River and some lovely architecture …..but…..the property is poorly managed and filthy. Sticky carpets and dingy furniture. It smelled in the reception area (possibly the Catonese restaurant next door…. it was mentioned people who stay in the rooms over the restaurant have been known to complain about the smell). Regardless of Michelin stars for the restaurant , if you aren’t into having Catonese fusion food smells in your hotel room…chose another location onsite. The Goosefeathers restaurant is leasing the space from the Tarrytown House and is not associated with the property otherwise. There is no room service or food on-site for the guests. We were advised there is uber eats and we can call. The staff on-site seemed seriously disinterested in our presence. Not a smile or staff asking “anything I can do to make your stay more comfortable?” No smiles….seriously lacking pride in their work and no desire to be a premier site. This is a shame. An experienced energetic manager is needed to snap this place into back into shape. Not sure what the business plan is….but it could be improved to be more vacation like - but right now it is sad….Oh well. Hopefully this review gets to management and at least they will clean the carpets. ps not a very good set up for handicap - wheelchair access due to the hills, but saw some unmanned golf carts….maybe if there was engaged staff those would be available to shuttle guests around the property. But alas, it felt like there was no one in charge watching the store.
Mio marito e io siamo rimasti una notte. La stanza era eccellente - recentemente ristrutturata, brillante nuova e pulita. Molto comoda letto.
