This property is the only one I know North of Danbury (15 miles) that offers amenities found at ”three star major brands”. When I travel anywhere (in this case to a Reunion at South Kent School) I like to have ”the best surprise is no surprise”. Now I respect those who choose in rural settings, to seek out the ”charming Bed and Breakfasts”, of which there quite a number in this area, but that simply is ”not me”. Pay a somewhat higher rate for their ”Deluxe Wing” and you can be sure to have the ”three star” amenities noted. So if your destination is the New Milford, Gaylordsville, Kent, Sharon, area and you're like me, this is where to stay. If you are ”like some others” where to have a cat who knows how to open doors and decide she wants to have a ”sleep in” with a guest is all part of the rustic experience, go find your B&B.

Had a wonderful time at the Homestead Inn. Lovely room, nice porch for reading, and a nice village for walking, shopping, and dining. Nicole, the manager, is very personable and attentive and is one of the few people I know who can properly scramble eggs with a very satisfying breakfast. Highly recommended.

My husband and I spent a gorgeous weekend at the Mayflower Inn. Inn: the staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Our room was spacious and came with lots of local treats that were regularly restocked. The soaps and shampoos all smelled delicious. Food: the Garden Room brunch is incredible. The egg sandwich comes with thick cut bacon, and the country breakfast is hearty. The room itself is also beautiful. We had one dinner in the Tap Room, and the burgers are well-cooked and flavorful. Excellent choice of mocktails and cocktails. Pool: The loungers could stand to be upgraded. The pool food menu is extremely limited - you might expect poolside items like tacos or flatbreads, but instead the two main dishes are hamburgers and falafel burgers (which is tasty, but massive and messy). The menu pricing is also all over the place - the crab cake appetizer is $26 but a chicken Caesar salad is $37. The pool staff seems to be mostly recent high school grads. They're all friendly and want to help, but it creates a clubhouse vibe (even with the background music, guests can hear clear chatter while the staff makes drinks). Spa: no sauna or cold plunge, but overall gorgeous facilities. I loved how as a guest you can just drop in at any point and enjoy. Excellent massage.

Surprisingly large King Suite, very clean, furnished nicely and affordable. The parking area does not reflect the interior of the hotel. Breakfast was enjoyable, nice seating and the pool area is quite nice. The onsite restaurant is just ready to open after remodeling, but was not for this trip.

TERRIBLE. Non chalet staff.. dirty bathrooms.. NO MICROWAVE and I get a shrug when I inquire about it. Imagine waking up to warm your (cold) food, and having to walk across a hotel LOBBY and wait in LINE to use a PUBLIC microwave that everyone’s hands have been on.. in a PANDEMIC!! Then while trying to balance all the food and walk back ACROSS THE HOTEL everything falls and now you’ve lost food, money, and patience!! I will be reporting this hotel to BBB and everywhere else. I have never in all my years of staying at hotels big or small, have had to experience such! I’d advise everyone to look ELSEWHERE!!!!
