This apart-hotel complex is absolutely beautiful, flowering bushes everywhere with a lovely scent. Our apartment was large and airy and had a great private terrace on the first floor (2nd floor if you’re North American). It really was a home from home with a full dining area with table and chairs and lounge area with sofa, soft rug and tv. The main double bedroom was upstairs with an anteroom having a sofa/pull out bed for children or guests 3&4. Lots of storage in the bedroom but there was a distinct lack of hangers in the wardrobe but loads of drawer space. The kitchen is adequate enough for simple meals (no oven) with a twin hob and microwave, kettle and toaster, and a selection of pots and pans. We managed really well. The hotel provides breakfast 8am - 10am if you want it at 12euros per person. We didn’t try this option. Housekeeping are amazing and come every day! Everything is clean and beds are made. Towels can be changed daily if you like. For a self-catering holiday we found that a lot was provided in the apartment for us: washing up liquid, washing up sponge, washing up cloth and a tea towel. These are replenished and changed as needed. There is also toilet roll, shower gel and hand wash provided in the bathroom which was lovely - again, replenished when needed or on request. The complex gardens are beautiful and well-tended. The pool looked lovely and well-cared for, however we didn’t try it out. There seems to be a hot tub in a wooden building off the pool area - we took a look but it was grubby and the water had floating debris. I’m sure they would have sorted it out if we had asked, but we were out and about discovering the island every day. You definitely need to hire a car for the duration of your stay here as there isn’t any bus route nearby and taxis would be very expensive to get around the island. HANDY TIP: If you’re picking up your hire car on landing at the airport and driving to Quinta da Santana - to get into the complex there is an electronic gate that requires a remote control. When you first arrive, drive past the big metal gate and find the next smaller (pedestrian) gate. Put the hazard lights on in the car and get out to ring the bell. This alerts reception who will come and open the gate for you or just give you a remote straight away so you can drive into the complex. We had a horrendous time of looking and looking and going around and around the roads trying to find the entrance!! We didn’t know about the need to ring the pedestrian gate bell (face palm!) The reception staff are lovely and very accommodating and speak English very well. I’m not sure what other languages they can speak. The area that Quinta da Santana is situated in is the one fly in the ointment….it seems really run down and the road they are situated on is all full of industrial buildings and commercial businesses. Further exploration within Santana uncovers the grubbier side of agricultural life with its local working class community.

Bellissimo! Curato in ogni dettaglio dal sapore autentico. Arredi bellissimi, camere confortevoli anche per le famiglie (un vera suite con doppie stanze!). Ad ogni riassetto (fatto più volte al giorno), viene offerto un te’ abbellito da rametti di rosmarino freschi e profumatori spray per cuscini. Il personale molto gentile e proattivo nell’offrire possibili escursioni. La colazione squisita su ordinazione, senza sprechi e con una congrua varietà. La granola che servita con lo yogurt è home made, nel rispetto dei principi bio ed eco della struttura. La posizione del resort è comoda per diversi spostamenti sull’isola. Un unica vera pecca ( che per gli italiani purtroppo non si può non segnalare), e’ la mancanza del bidet. Per il resto assoluta eccellenza.

Di fronte all'Oceano Atlantico e direttamente sul mare, non ci sono ostacoli di fronte. La camera ha un balcone, molto confortevole e con ampia vista. Puoi vedere il mare direttamente dal letto. Il bagno è dotato di vasca. Puoi fare il bagno guardando il mare. È comodo! L'hotel è molto pulito, mi piace molto il suo stile di decorazione, ha un senso del design, l'abbinamento dei colori è molto adatto allo scenario locale e i dettagli sono ben fatti. Il servizio è molto buono, il ristorante per la colazione a buffet può guardare il mare e il cibo è abbondante. L'hotel dispone di una piscina a sfioro all'aperto. Puoi nuotare mentre guardi il mare. Se non vuoi nuotare, puoi salire pigramente per crogiolarti al sole. C'è anche un bar accanto alla piscina. Ottimo hotel 5 stelle alle Azzorre. Le camere vista mare si tolgono il fiato. Ottima colazione. Piscine e servizi perfetti. Ristorante e bar sempre all altezza. Cambio asciugamani da piscina all'occorrenza. Spa interna di livello. Prodotti da bagno Ok

Óptima localização e com muito potencial, mas ainda muito a melhorar!! 1 - A nossa estadia foi de 3 noites e em nenhum dos dias foi feita limpeza, só recebemos toalhas novas porque pedimos na recepção, não tem quaisquer amenities, champô, gel duche, tivemos que comprar porque não tínhamos levado no voo; 2 - No dia de check out vieram acordar-nos antes das 8h30 para saber a que horas saíamos, quando o check out era até às 11h; 3 - Pouco depois ouvimos barulho da porta a abrir e quando verificámos, tratava-se já do próximo hóspede a quem tinham dado early check in, ficámos todos espantados com a situação… 4 - A receção está fechada aos feriados e fins-de-semana, por isso só tivemos contacto com alguém 1 dia em toda a estadia!

We absolutely loved staying at DoubleTree by Hilton in the Azores. The hotel, and the rooms, were extremely clean and well taken care of. The staff is super efficient and kind making you feel welcome all the time and worried about your every need. Breakfast was amazing, with great quality and variety. The location of the hotel is perfect for people who wish to get to know the island with easy access to every point you might want to visit. It has free and easy parking right at the door. The indoor pool, sauna and turkish bath are something to die for, definitely worth the visit. Honestly, it was just the best experience and I highly recommend satying at the hotel.

Very simple Hotel close to the Hospitalm The rooms were tidy and clean. 10 min walk from the Hospital Internacional and very close to the harbour. However they only have stairs to go up to the first floor. No elevator. Front door service was supposed to be open full day but it was only open in the morning. However, there is a phone number you can call were they will acomodate your needs eficiently. The inside of the building is beautiful. Breakfast is very poor and low quality food. Good place to stay if you are travelling for a hospital visit, but I wouldn't count on breakfast...

Los apartamentos son grandes muy completos. Se dividen en cocina, con sala abierta, baño y dormitorio. La cocina tienen microondas, tostadora y demás electrodomésticos, incluso lavavajillas. El dormitorio esta bien, y la cama es genial. Baño perfecto, uno de los apartamentos lo tiene adaptado el número 3. Buena salita y sofa. El entorno es perfecto, hay piscina y restaurante. En el restaurante no se puede desayunar, pero hay un continente a 3 minutos en coche. Hay parking gratuito. La zona de piscina bonita y tranquila. Esta a 3 minutos de la carretera principal. Ferdinando es muy amable. El restaurante es acogedor, buen balado y vino local blanco espectacular. Muy recomendable. Por poner un pero, mejoraría la limpieza un poco más. Volvería 100%
