We stayed here over the weekend of L’Etape Portugal 2023 as we were riding in the event. It was the perfect base and we loved everything about the hotel. All of the staff made us feel so welcome and were so friendly. Particular mention must go to the Bike Center team, who accommodated all of our requirements for the race with the bike rentals, set-up and details. Nothing was a problem! This a wonderful place to stay to enjoy the beach, sports, weather and also to easily explore Viana do Castelo. We will be back!

Aveva la stanza tutta per me. E 'una veramente moderna proprietà che guarda il mare /river. Il colazione era eccellente come mai. Grande fermata tra Porto e Santiago de Compostela. Purtroppo solo due treni al giorno!

Sono rimasto qui per una notte, il 21 aprile, con altri 3 amici e tutti noi ci piace. Tutti i membri del personale sono molto gentili e collaborativi, sia quelli della reception che quelli della sala colazione. Le strutture sono molto buone, con tutte le condizioni e soprattutto molto pulite. A queste qualità si trova in un luogo ottimo, vicino a tutto quello che si visita.

Clearly the hotel has been recently renovated. Facilities are nice, simple, modern design. We stayed in a family room with bunks above the main bed which the kids loved. The pool is large with a beautiful lawn/lounger area next to the bar. The location is walking distance to the old town with a view over the bridge. Yes it is beside a fairly busy road but we didn't find it's problem. There is a limited amount of free parking in front of the hotel. Breakfast was a very nice buffet on the sixth floor. Service was friendly and welcoming. For the price we paid very good value. I don't understand why this is only a three Star hotel, presumably the lack of a restaurant. Definitely recommended.

There is something very wrong with AP Dona Aninhas but they are not telling us anything about it. A family reunion took me to Viana do Castelo and I was excited about staying at this new AP property Dona Aninhas. During the booking process, I got an offer for their two floor family suite and I booked it with a special rate. We arrived at the hotel late at night after a long trip from Los Angeles. Note that the access the hotel has a quite long flight of stairs and no one is there to help guests bringing their luggage up to the lobby. After check in, we entered room 310, and a foul smell hit us hard. We turned the AC on, hoping that once the air circulated, the smell would go away. The second floor, where the bedroom is, has an even worse problem: the AC doesn’t work there so the sewer smell is more accentuated upstairs. Exhausted, we took a shower and fell asleep, planning on discussing the problem the following morning. We both woke up drenched in sweat and with a throbbing headache - It was like waking up in the sewer in a hot and muggy day - and for this awful experience we were fooled to pay 120 Euros for the night. That morning, we talked to front desk and maintenance people, and we found out that the smell and the heat in that room was a recurring problem, but since the hotel was sold out in the night we checked in, they had no option other than putting us in the “sewer room”, omitting the truth about the terrible smell that many guest had complained before us. After that first night, we were transferred to room 312, a smaller room with a similar configuration of the previous room, except that there was no bathroom upstairs where the bed is located. After the first night in that new room, we realized that room 312 had the same issues of room 310. AC doesn’t work upstairs and the sewer smell, although less accentuated, is very noticeable. Also note that the hotel doesn’t have telephones in the rooms, so to reach the front desk you have to go there in person. I had a conversation with GM Ricardo Santos and I explained to him what happened and I mentioned all the stories about guests dying in hotel rooms due to criminal negligence from hotel management, that in order not to lose revenue, keep booking “compromised rooms” to guests. Mr Santos shrugged off my concerns and said that although they were not sure about the origin of the foul smell, he was sure, without any tangible proof, that it wasn’t toxic. And then he added: “Did you enjoy the wine bottle I sent to your room?” Really? I was expecting that he would have the decency to refund me for that first night that he knowingly booked us in the sewer room. But I got a wine bottle instead. We have stayed in hotels all over the world in our travels but this was a very disturbing and alarming stay for us. I cannot accept this hotel’s negligent approach to such a serious situation. Ho trascorso un bel po' di giorni in questo fantastico e unico hotel a Viana do Castelo con mia sorella. Basato su una vecchia fabbrica di cioccolato, questo hotel è progettato intorno al concetto di cioccolato. Le camere sono tematiche; siamo rimasti a Roca, un nome usato per le aree dove il cacao è coltivato e raccolto, e ha portato un piccolo balcone con sedie e tavolo che era bello. Il personale dove tutti sono davvero utile e gentile, e lavorava intorno alle nostre esigenze specificamente al colazione con mia sorella, che aveva qualche bisogno di allergia e che mi aveva bisogno di momenti diversi a causa del viaggio in avanti e partecipare al ciclo di fase Portogallo L'hotel era pulito e molto rilassante, è stato bello sedersi fuori per qualche sera e godere di una bevanda di tè e cioccolato freddo! Il pranzo è stato servito alle tavole e è stato molto buono con una serie di pasticceria, torte, pancake, carne, formaggio, frutta e una scelta di bevande, cereali e molto altro. Ci piaceva anche guardare intorno al museo sottostante; tutto sulla storia del cioccolato con tante grandi informazioni e fatti e pochi elementi a mano, come fare una bevanda del cioccolato Montezuma aveva solito avere 50 di un giorno, wow! Il negozio vicino alla reception ha un certo numero di regali di cioccolato fatto sul sito, nonché regali esterne a mano che sono adatto per qualsiasi amante di cioccolato! La posizione era ideale per me per partecipare alla fase Portogallo, poiché era solo pochi minuti a piedi dall'inizio della gara, ed era anche molto vicino alla stazione e tutti i principali ristoranti, negozi e edifici culturali della città. Viana do Castelo è un luogo meraviglioso e il Monte Santa Luzia offre una vista fantastica in tutta la regione e lungo la costa. In generale, è stata una fantastica esperienza e vorrei tornare in futuro e esplorare la zona più! Grazie per averci reso così benvenuti.

Ben situato c'è un posto per parcheggiare gratuitamente. Camera ampio e ben attrezzata. E' tutto nuovo. Ci sono caffè , infusioni, acqua gratuita in pianta bassa 24h. Microonde e tavoli per poter mangiare quello che portate. Tutto bene. Accettate animali portate un cane piccolo paga supplemento, questo se non mi hanno dato né letto né bevitore.
