When you approach through the forest and waterways this monster in a large pond intrigues. Located next to the old Waterloopkundig or hydrological research centre this building from the sixties with its concrete look, has been fully remodelled and modernized. Nice couches and surroundings created in the main entrance and the hallways. Plenty of parking space and possibility to stall your bikes and bicycles. One strange thing is that they demand immediate payment of the room (even when we had given a credit card guarantee) though you can charge bar and restaurant on the room. All rooms have a balcony overlooking the pond and they have a lot of space. They are modern and supplied with a safe and coffeemaker. Good beds and perfect shower. The lights for reading at the seats and for shaving at the wash basin are faint and don't really help. For the rest, no remarks to the rooms though the decoration on the walls is a little bit of everything. The restaurant offered a special asparagus menu due to the season. We assume they do more of these specialties. The normal dishes have a decent variety and there is the possibility of the chef's choice in meat, fish or vegetarian (recommendable). With the option of strolling alongside the old research objects in the moors and woodlands and the good cycling options, this new (opened at 31 March 2023) hotel is an excellent extra for the Fletcher brand.

Wonderfully welcoming staff. Relaxed ambience throughout the property. Elegant dining rooms. Large comfortable bedroom with good amenities in the room. Very nice evening meal (for a separate price) and an enjoyable breakfast (included in the price). Excellent value for money (in the week). No lifts though so if you have big suitcases, this could be a problem (that said, the staff helped us up with our light bags). The room we had had steps down into the room which made it difficult getting out as you had to step back down to pull the door inwards. Would definitely like to come and stay at this property again.

In una amena posizione facilmente raggiungibile dalla autostrada A6, isolato nella campagna a 2 km da Emmeloord e di fronte ad un imbarcadero offre una piacevole sosta in un contesto originale e suggestivo. Centrale e quindi valido punto di riferimento per escursioni nel Noordoostpolder immersi nella campagna olandese dove catturare immagini fiabesche nel periodo della fioritura dei tulipani. Bella la sala ristorante e la hall. Camere confortevoli e pulite ma prive di aria condizionata con stanza da bagno un po’ datata ed una dotazione di cortesia non all’altezza di un 4 stelle (mancano ciabattine da bagno, un blocchetto per appunti e anche la dotazione bagno è molto essenziale). Buona e completa la prima colazione ma con una offerta molto tradizionale per un 4 stelle. Originali i corridoi delle camere con pareti in mattoni a faccia vista.

The hotel pictures in de adds are beautiful, in real live it is less of a beautiful building in its surrounding (especially in fall on a rainy day) but that is not really what matters. The check in at the reception was surprisingly short and we were good to go to our room that looked perfectly clean. The room was far from warm and the heater could not fix this. The fish heads on the wallpaper were far from appealing to us. The functional light on the ceiling and next to the bed have no dimming function - hence the word functional! So sitting in the bright and cold lighted room and have a drink an a chat is not attractive. But beside the lights, the two chairs (iron and plastic wire) are far from comfortable (hard/no pillows). So the interior itself with the colors and furniture laks warmth. The floor is made from laminated PVC I guess which makes it even colder (but clean). So what you do, you go out and will definitely find your comfort in the restaurant/bistro. The restaurant is a lovely place to be and have a nice dinner. We were served very well by friendly staff. I must admit that the hotel staff - they are the same - were very friendly as well. It is exactly like what others write about. Good wine and good food, lots of people form around having a drink (bistro function) or share a meal (restaurant function) in this nice warm ambiance. When it was time for bed we went back to our fish-room. The beds are two separate beds with plastic wheels which easily drift the beds apart. So each should stay on his side or you both stay on one if you want to be close for a while. The bed itself was good, nice cover/sheets. Pillow was to thin but I think there was a spare one. The shower was great! Spacious and bright. The sink smelled. This is because unfortunately the extra (over load) chamber in the sinks tends to fill with soap bubbles when washing your hands. And this is a perfect spot for fungus to grow. Hard to clean as well, so we do understand this is forgotten. Just have a sip from the running tap and you will know ;-) It all/ the room looks like it is new, just redecorated. To our opinion it could have some finishing touches to make it more perfect. Make it more warm would be our advise. Breakfast in the morning was great! No complains at all. This is organized in a warm looking room. Great coffee! We would definitely recommend this clean hotel if you need to visit this area/city. The people who work here do an honest job with a personal touch. We like that! I think they like it there as well.

Leuk chalet in een mooie omgeving. Dichtbij het centrum. Leuk aan het water. Mooie omgeving om te fietsen of varen. Het weer doet alles. Voor mindervaliden is Giethoorn erg lastig met de vele bruggetjes en smalle paadjes

Mi piace molto questo alloggio, una grande stanza, super complete strutture di cucina. Ci sono anche molti piccoli cuccioli carini che camminano alla porta. Ma l'unico difetto è che le porte e le finestre della cucina sono trasparenti e non si sente nascosto abbastanza a notte.

In transito con barca, come bambino eravamo a casa ( genitori amici della famiglia Frank, 40 anni non sono stati così speciale Noi dormiamo stanza di notte 62 sembrano molto buoni letti, 18 ore ci siamo mangiati con Frank!
