Ik had vandaag al om 11 uur via boeking.com gereserveerd bij Hotel de Keizerskroon in Apeldoorn. Ik werd erg onvriendelijk ontvangen aan de balie. Mijn boeking bleek niet doorgekomen te zijn. Vervolgens vroeg men mij om de bevestigingsmail te tonen. Ik had die opgezocht in mijn computer en hen de bevestigingsmail laten zien. Had mijn computer afgesloten en werd toen gevraagd om de betaling te laten zien. Vervolgens mijn computer opnieuw opgestart en laten zien dat het bedrag van mijn bankrekening was afgeschreven. Ik kreeg toen een kamer, maar .... Wat schetst mijn verbazing. Wachtend op het diner in de bar van het hotel komt iemand van de receptie naar mij toe met de vraag of ik hen nogmaals het betalingsbewijs wil mailen omdat zij het niet helemaal vertrouwen. Ik werd voortdurend met achterdocht behandeld. Het is een mooi hotel maar de service is ronduit waardeloos. Ik zou dit hotel zeker niet aanbevelen aan anderen. Het leek wel klantje pesten om het mij zo oncomfortabel mogelijk te maken. Aan de bar werd ik ook niet bediend. Zelden zo'n slechte service meegemaakt

This small hotel is truly a little piece of heaven! The beautiful lounge/breakfast room is so welcoming and elegant, and Petra is a wonderful host. Nothing was any trouble and it was lovely to meet someone who takes so much pride in what she does. I particularly loved the fresh flowers and candles 💐 Breakfast was made to order, everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Room was at the front of the hotel but there was very little noise from passing traffic. Shower great, lots of lovely towels and quality shower gel/hair wash was provided. Very comfortable bed and 3 great nights’ sleep! Petra is a star! Nancy & Caroline 😊

La stanza era pulita e con tutte le comodità, e solo che ci sono segni di parti che richiedono manutenzione. Così si vede qui e là danni alle porte e ufficio di polveri di cui sono stati rivestiti di colori, ma in generale non è veramente e non è stato disturbato per me. Il personale è gentile e attento. In generale un ottimo hotel a mio parere

Hotel is located in the main square and on top of one of their restaurant. There also lots of restaurants and shops along the main street. Train station is around 10 mins walk, but there are bus stations nearby. You can take the bus to Giethoorn (via Zwolle) and Nationale Park De Hoge Veluwe. This is also the reason I picked this city. The room is newly renovated, bed and pillow is very comfortable. Bathroom is new and clean with a hairdryer. Big enough to put my big suitcase, and store my stuff. They even have a coffee machine. I think I'm in a 5-star! They don't have staff managing the reception desk, but all the staff (waiter and waitress) can help. You don't need to wait long to get help from one of the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. Things you need to aware, the hotel don't have lift, you need to carry luggage through a steep staircase to 2nd floor. Luckily, the staff assist as well. Although the sound proof is not good, it only have a few rooms there, it is not a big matter. There are also noise from the restaurants in the square. To me, it is fine because it won't till mid-night. They have 2 restaurants, one is casual 'Cafe de Paris', one is fine dining 'Spicebrush de Proeverij'. I tried both. Food are so good, and not expensive. Apeldoorn is a lovely small city. There is not many point of interest, but it is good to stay there and explore the surrounding. I love to come back!

Every time I drive my partner to Holland we look for a Van der Valk hotel whatever our destination because we know exactly what to expect .. High standard quality of service , amenities , food, interior design .. and above all friendly and competent staff .. Hotel van der Valk Apeldoorn is no exception...Nice pool , very large and comfortable design room , very comfortable box spring bed, pet friendly hotel , a nice park nearby to walk your dog , and above all the famous van der Valk breakfast ... Smoked Salmon , muffins, various kinds of bread , croissants, cheeses , marmalades , waffeln with cherries marmalade , cold cutts.... and of course scrambled eggs with bacon or omelette ...

Wij kwamen afgelopen vrijdagmiddag (22/11/24) aan bij het hotel. Er waren genoeg parkeerplaatsen om je auto kwijt te kunnen. Vervolgens werden we binnen vriendelijk ontvangen en hebben we ingecheckt. Onze kamer bevond zich op de (201) t****e verdieping. Deze was schoon en zag er goed uit. De badkamer was niet echt ruim, maar alles wat je daar moet, kun je daar doen. Prima! Vervolgens gingen we naar het mooie en gezellige restaurant van het hotel om daar ons hoofdgerecht te nuttigen. Het smaakte heel erg goed. Ook de bediening was er behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Ook het ontbijt zag er geweldig uit, elke ochtend echt lekker veel keuze. Kortom mensen die de recensies van vele voorgangers hebben gelezen....ik was dààr niet bij, maar het is er nu in ieder geval tip top voor elkaar. Wij hebben een geweldig weekend gehad. UUtente ospiteDoor de reviews van anderen kozen wij last minute dit hotel. Het eerste contact met de receptie aldaar was zeer vriendelijk. Bij aankomst bleek echter dat de eerste kamer die wij toegewezen kregen recent was gebruikt , er stond nog een hoog- laag bed en een passieve lift. Dit maakte een zeer slechte eerste indruk. Vervolgens kregen wij een andere kamer toe gewezen , overigens van een uiterst vriendelijke receptioniste. In de t****e kamer bleek het beddengoed niet te zijn verschoond , dit was ronduit vies. De derde kamer was schoon, in ieder geval voor het oog. Maar eigenlijk stond het hotel ons op dat moment al zeer tegen. Wij moesten heel vroeg weg de volgende ochtend. Er stonden 2 tasjes klaar met ontbijt, heel lief maar ook erg sober. Alles bij elkaar geen goede indruk van dit hotel qua schoonmaak, bedden, organisatie en ontbijt. Wel een heel goede indruk van het personeel.

Let me start off by saying: if you are looking for a nice area for walking and cycling, this hotel may be worth it. The surrounding woods are quite nice. Other than that, don't expect much. As others have already mentioned, it's not a typical hotel but more of an outdated holiday resort. It's not even close to being worth 4 stars. There are two rooms per building, using the same main entrance, and you have to pay extra if you want the ground level room - which is apparently also the only one with a kettle and coffee machine. The stairs to the first-floor hotel room are quite steep and not accessible to everyone. The vibe it gave was 'sleeping over in your 70-year-old uncle/grandpa's attic'. The rooms are very old-fashioned, with no clock, an old radio you can't plug in because of the lack of outlets, and a bit of a musty smell. The 'two-person bed' is just two single beds pushed together, so if you want to be intimate with your partner or just sleep close together you will most definitely end up in the gap in between. The beds don't sleep great, either. There is no airconditioning so it gets quite hot in the summer with no way of cooling down, and the wifi is not too stable. There is also some mould in the shower, as well as rust, and the window in the bathroom does not open. The toilet sometimes refused to flush properly. Breakfast was standard, don't expect any vegan options except for bread and peanut butter. You are allowed to take some stuff for lunch, though, which is nice. There is no fridge in your room however, so keeping things cool is not an option. Also bring your own cutlery, plate & cup if you plan on buying breakfast/lunch at a local supermarket, because the room only comes with two plastic-lined paper cups. There is only one vegetarian main course on the restaurant menu, but the chef was very kind and made the vegetarian lunch options dinner-sized for us. Vegan would definitely be impossible, though. The restaurant and pool are also not that easily accessible for people in a wheelchair or with a walking impairment. Definitely get some sort of voucher or discount deal, otherwise the prices are way too high for what you get. You're not allowed to order food from Thuisbezorgd etc. The pool is... well, it's not much. It's small but barely anyone goes for a swim there, so chances are you will have it all to yourself. Bring something like a diving game or a ball if you want to have anything fun to do. The showers don't really work and half of them only have cold water. There is a tennis court but it will cost about 12 euros per hour to use it, and the 'sports fields' that are on the map they give you have become overgrown and cannot be used. You're not allowed to park your bike next to/close to your building but there is an old shed-like building in which you can store your bike.
