TThierryL1393Commençons par le positif. Le logement est propre et apparemment neuf ou remis à neuf. Il est dans les hauteurs du village et un petit sentier permet d’accéder vers le village à pied. La communication avec la propriétaire (que nous n’avons pas vue) se fait facilement par mail. Enfin, le cottage est assez spacieux. Cependant, ce ne sera pas notre meilleur souvenir de ce Road trip en Islande. D’une part, la photo de la vue du bâtiment est ancienne et ne correspond plus du tout à la réalité. En regardant la photo, on a l’impression d’être seuls face à la mer... en fait, elle s’y trouve à l’horizon et il y a des bâtiments qui ont été construits juste en face... et le logement dans lequel vous séjournez a aussi 3 voisins. N’y allez donc pas si vous cherchez un endroit isolé vous serez déçus... d’autre part, si vous êtes à 4, il y a une chambre et un divan lit dans la pièce de vie. Le canapé lit n’est pas très confortable et surtout, la porte d’entrée étant vitrée, il fait clair toute la nuit (en juillet)... il faudrait en réalité prévoir un store... enfin, c’est une location de vacances mais ne vous attendez pas à y trouver du café ou du sucre, c’est totalement vide... voilà la raison pour laquelle j’ai mis 3, mais je confirme que les lieux sont propres, modernes et à prix raisonnables .

UUtente ospiteRestaurant Bakki is an oasis of high-quality cuisine in the wilds of northwest Iceland, just off the Ring Road and close to Hvammstangi. It’s the in-house eatery for Hótel Laugarbakki, a former school building now converted into a 3-star hotel. I found myself there two weeks ago on the first night of a Ring Road trip, camping at Langafit. Taking a look around, I discovered Restaurant Bakki was a potential for dinner, having been warmly welcomed by Inga at reception. So I made a reservation and went off to explore Hvammstangi. When I returned, I was treated to an excellent chicken dish with a splendid white wine. The food was expertly prepared and presented, and the service was subtle, smooth and superb. Restaurant Bakki enjoys splendid views of the Miðfjörður area and the dining room is of an excellent standard, with enormous windows making the most of its setting. All in all, it was an ideal solution for my first night in Iceland! Thanks to Inga and the team for a great dining experience.

UUtente ospitePersonale gentile. Posizione ottima e tranquilla nonostante sulla strada. Parcheggio comodissimo. Location bella. Camere pulite , con grandi finestre e bagno fornito di tutto e nuovo. Dimensioni camere nella norma della zona. Colazione varia e buona . Un particolare: chi soggiorna ha l’entrata alla piscina comunale (con anche vasca calda all’esterno e idromassaggio) gratuita .. a tre minuti a piedi dall’hotel. Ottimo per rilassarsi prima di cena (non hanno ristorante ) . Consigliatissimo.
