Given the remoteness of Ilulissat, climate challenges and an impossible supply chain, I was expecting to find a somewhat rustic hotel which would probably keep us warm most nights...this Best Western was anything but that. Our 5 days there were exceptional. The breakfasts were fresher than fresh and more elegant than 5-star hotels I've stayed at in Paris, Zurich and Venice. The rooms and public spaces were kept very clean, it has a great location, and friendly staff. A big plus is the travel agent desk set up right next to the hotel front desk. This company is owned and operated by locals and they can get you hooked into all the sights worth seeing and doing.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a photographic group of 16 people in Ilulissat, Greenland. Upon arrival and check-in--(which I understood was 3 pm and I was early) I was greeted by a relatively unfriendly individual,( I believe his name was Axel), who rudely told me it was impossible to check in any earlier than our allotted time. I was okay with that but not with his lack of hospitality skills. I had the unfortunate displeasure of dealing with him on a few more occasions during my 5-day stay and at no time did his skills show any signs of improvement with me or any other guest I witnessed him speaking ”down to.” I was provided a standard room (200 wing) which had a nice view of the water, icebergs, and boats. The room had two single beds moved together to provide a queen. There was a desk and chair. The room was small but adequate for one person, and probably a bit tight for two. The bathroom was also small but again adequate and clean. Very limited soap, body gel, and shampoo. If you do stay here I would suggest bringing your supplies if you have personal preferences for the items you use. The towels were okay but not soft and thick. One window in the room was able to be opened. Dark-out curtains were provided for our 24 hours of daylight. Breakfast offerings included soft/hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fruit, cereal, yogurt, fresh juices, freshly baked sweets and bread, and good Greenlandic coffee. Items were regularly refreshed. Lunch and Dinners at the hotel were very good with an assortment of items to choose from. One night there was a wonderful buffet that included native specialties: muskox, reindeer, whale, seal, halibut--fresh and smoked, king crab legs, Greenlandic shrimp, assorted salads, fresh cooked whole grain breads, fresh baked desserts. the meal was truly a beautiful and delicious buffet of native foods. There are a few employees of this hotel who really stood out and bent over backward to assist in making this hotel a pleasure to stay in. I needed to spend one more evening here before my departure. ( I did have a reservation at another hotel but staying would save me from packing and unpacking to move). Axel repeatedly told me that obtaining a room for the night was impossible as they were fully sold out--- however, I knew there were flight cancellations due to the weather and therefore would have room availability. After being told one more time, ”not possible” I went to the desk later to recheck. There was a gentleman named Kasper who managed to find a room not only for myself but others who were traveling with me. He was a king among kings. Not only did he exemplify true hospitality skills, but he was also a gentleman. He was patient and polite with everyone. He found each of our rooms by simply taking the time to look for them, something Axel didn't bother to do. The rooms are somewhat dated but the views are excellent from the top floor. The restaurant has an excellent Greenlandic Buffet, highly recommended. My room-mate and I had to share one bathtowl for 4 days. We asked for more but we didn’t get them. It was somewhat hysterically funny. ”Would you like to use the towel now or can I?” We had a nice stay but the hotel needs some renovating.

Abbiamo prenotato in febbraio da ********** per due volte due notti alla fine di giugno. La notte tra noi ci siamo fermati al Eqi Lodge. Abbiamo avuto alcune grandi domande con questo hotel, ma non so chi incolpare; l'hotel o *************. In primo luogo abbiamo pagato 310 DDK (~ 44 euro) più come prenotato da ********** Perché non è possibile lamentarsi da **********, tranne per telefono (solo una opzione quando si desidera aspettare per sempre) Non so chi incolpare. Ma se vuoi prenotare questo hotel, paghi in anticipo. Non siamo stati raccolti dall'aeroporto. Dovremmo organizzare (e pagare) un taxi da soli. Secondo l'hotel c'era una malcomunicazione con **********. Poco più piccolo: li chiamavano un hotel, ma le camere non erano pulite durante il fine settimana. Abbiamo ottenuto pulizie pulite dopo averlo chiesto. L'hotel non ha una reception 24 ore. Per i buoni punti: buon colazione al loro ristorante dall'altra parte della strada. Molto completo (!) camera con cucina compresa microonde, frigorifero, piastrelle, pannelli ecc. Puli, belle camere con un buon letto, una tavola e due sedie. Buona doccia. Wi-Fi buono. Caffè, tè e cacao gratis. (La seconda volta non c'era molto caffè.) Hanno organizzato un modo per entrare dopo l'ora di ufficio (prossima a 6PM) a 7PM che tornano dal nostro viaggio da Eqi Lodge. L'hotel si trova nel centro della città, vicino a 3 supermercati, diversi ristoranti (principalmente chiusi) e diversi operatori turistici. Anche con i 300 DDK extra e i costi di taxi, ancora una scelta di meno costi rispetto alla maggior parte degli altri hotel della città. gps: 69.218345, -51.098666

Stavo per 4 notti - molto facile da andare, hotel amico. Le camere si riscaldano molto rapidamente, che è stato benvenuto. Il colazione era semplice e abbondante. Il personale era super utile. Il 4* Arctic Hotel è un 3* rating che si trova a pochi tassi e pasti di sera, ecc.
