The best staff and regular clientele we have seen as a couple on our travels! My boss booked this last minute as a reward for our hard work after a fantastically successful exhibition in Penzance. Despite the last minute booking, the staff were well prepared for us. Upon arrival the extremely professional and courteous bar-staff treated us so well. After such a busy exhibition, we were tired and confused. As well as the staff, the regular clientele were fantastic at helping us with directions and other local advice. The shining star of our stay were the two bar ladies. Between them they helped us complete the simplest of tasks that we were unable to perform (ie working a very easy to use coffee maker) and charging our phones with their own chargers. Whenever we got confused, they were there to guide and support us until we went to bed! We can not recommend this hotel enough. The room was spotless when we arrived, with all the modern conveniences (that we couldn't work until shown with much patience by the aforementioned staff). Anyone looking for a friendly, professional and welcoming hotel - get your booking in quick!

Premetto che il proprietario è persona molto gentile e disponile. La camera che ci è stata assegnata era veramente piccola, in 3 impossibile aprire i bagagli. Il bagno cieco ha una ventola incrostata dalla polvere. Il marchingegno elettrico che gestisce la doccia impedisce di fatto di prelevare la doccetta per lavarsi senza fare la doccia integrale perché è incastrata in una incomprensibile struttura di plastica. Il letto matrimoniale è piccolo, da una piazza e mezza e su ruote…e dentro la camera c’è anche un tavolo che riduce ulteriormente lo scarso spazio disponibile. Se si prova ad aprire anche solo una valigia diventa impossibile muoversi. La colazione è abbastanza ricca. Il pane (industriale), però, è tenuto in un sacchetto di plastica che toccano tutti gli ospiti. Ho provato ad assaggiare un croissant ma era vecchio, quasi immangiabile. È una sistemazione casalinga molto lontana dal concetto di B&B di alta qualità. La posizione, poi, obbliga all’uso dell’auto perché il centro di St. Ives dista almeno 5 km dove trovare parcheggio è poi un’impresa. Il posteggio gratuito dell’auto sul retro albergo non esiste, ci stanno a malapena due auto e ci sono sette camere. Internet superveloce non pervenuto. Sistemazione idonea per viaggiatori senza particolari pretese e con il solo bagaglio a mano, molto inglese.

We had 2 nights here, 11-13 July. We arrived late, between 10-11pm, and the counter staff was very friendly n helpful. We did not manage to get dinner due to train delays but the front staff was kind to inform us that we could purchase some cold sandwiches and he would make sandwiches for us. 😊 The room price includes breakfast for which we were glad. We enjoyed the breakfast thoroughly. The views from the hotel overlooking the St Ives beach is truly amazing. The hotel grounds were immaculately maintained. You must walk through their walled garden … it is well landscaped and very beautiful. It felt like walking in some professionally well curated botanical garden. 👍🏼

L'hotel è sopra la collina, verso il mare, e il paesaggio è bellissimo.L'hotel ha un servizio di parcheggio gratuito e il bagno ha bisogno di fermare la porta dell'hotel.Lascia che il personale si fermi.Questa volta, la suite di famiglia è stata fissata, l'unico difetto è la stanza più piccola.Il colazione è la colazione tradizionale britannica. Il sapore è ancora buono.L'hotel è la spiaggia, puoi giocare con l'acqua sul mare, ecc.

Ground floor room with shower, compact one small wardrobe, no kng size bed which nowadays are pretty well standard, my bedside table collapse, cheap self assembly. The Hotel as steps at entrance and steps inside to bar and dining room. Rather small lift to other floors. Breakfast self service for hot & cold food, down steps to dining room, meals average neither good or bad. We think they are packing too many Coach Tours at one time, causing meal times to be variable and not consistent.

We have visited here for drinks and food over many years and due to the amazing views and ambience there chose to book it for Sunday lunch to celebrate our son proposing to his girlfriend just before our reservation. We had planned this surprise for months assisting our son in booking the meal to include family members who came as a surprise for our future daughter in law. I had mentioned this when booking and again when I rang to confirm the booking. However we were so let down on Sunday by awful and rude service on what we wanted to be the perfect family celebration. When we arrived the barman was unhelpful when asking if we could add our drinks to a tab as we were early for our table booking so not yet seated. He didn’t offer to find out if the table was free or what table it was to start the tab for he just said no. We then were seated by the friendly lady who I assume was managing the service for that day and she said someone would be with us shortly to take our order. We were sat for over 15 minutes and ignored by two female members of staff until I had to get up to go back out to find the lady who sat us to explain no one had been over to take a drink order or anything. The waitress who then came over was friendly and we hoped things were back on track for a lovely meal. We placed our drink order but one was missing and we could not get the attention of anyone to notify them of this and after another long wait had to go to the bar to find out where it was. The ticket was sat behind the bar and had not been poured! A couple of us had starters which were lovely and plates cleared. Mains were then served by another young waitress who clearly did not want to be there. She slammed plates down, no smile and we had to ask for knife’s and forks for the people that had had starters. She continued to bring the meals with no more cutlery and no offer of any condiments. We had to ask for this and the cutlery yet again. The horseradish’s was aggressively slammed down in-front of my mother in law with no spoon or anything to serve it and I had ask her again for a knife and fork. She brought these to the end of the table and again slammed them down without asking who needed them and certainly no smile or apology. The food was really lovely and such a shame the front of house staff let the kitchen staff down. I am so upset that what was a huge occasion for our son and fiancé was let down by very poor service and hope this was a blip as we are usually so happy with our visits here. I have never had a meal anywhere and not left service charge but felt so let down we felt we couldn’t justify tipping rude and unhelpful staff. Shame that one or two let it down for others but also as a manager of over 50 staff myself I would have hoped a manager should have overview of the restaurant to pick up the staffs failings.
