I am feeling sad to say that my expectations were high due to the reviews, but failed to meet that standard. Failed to meet expectations for the price of the room. The rooms are good size , although not good for tall people in bedroom, bathroom. Bed wasn't most comfortable. There was very strange poo smell in the bathroom and bedroom. The service in the restaurant is very poor. There is mostly no one to listen to you and keep waiting for someone to come to you. There are very restricted things available for the free breakfast. Water is not served unless you ask for it. It takes ages to cook egg omelette. We asked to make the room. On looking at the room, after coming back, we couldn't understand if anything was done at all. We tried to contact spa person to book for some treatments, but our call never got replied. This is called as Embleton spa and hotel. We did not even have access to spa, and overall, it was just an average hotel with average services for the price we paid.

This fine venue, fine in it's location, fine in it's relaxed car parking layout and fine in the quality of the interior furnishings and layout, continues to provide a relaxed atmosphere and unstuffy, efficient, service in interior surroundings that are significantly classier and have an up-market feel that could so easily make ordinary people, like me, feel ill-at-ease. I felt completely at ease from the moment I walked through the door. Not being an habitual diner-out, I opted for the Pan fried fillet of chicken with sage and onion potato cake, crispy streaky bacon and roast gravy, regarding that as a safe option. By steering clear of what could go wrong, I found that I had stumbled upon a meal that was tasty and wholesome, with plenty of perfectly-cooked U.K.-garden vegetables. By the time I had exhausted the supply of foods that could be liberally smothered in the delicious sauce, I still had quite a bit of that sauce remaining. Not being an habitual diner-out, I decided that asking-for a slice of brown bread to clean my plate, or worse (such as I would have done in a farmhouse) would 'blow my cover!' After that, the desert menu was an amusement park of possible delights; and after eating a banana-filled pancake, with ice cream and caramel sauce; I was left, again, regretting the impossibility of laying my hands on a slice of brown bread, or worse! Next to me in this dining-out celebration with friends; my fellow-diner was being vociferously challenged to ”Go on! Lick it! Lick it up!” My thoughts exactly. My meal was a luxurious treat. We were all served our chosen dishes without a pause in the service and I, for one, was taken on a culinary ride-out well-beyond my expectations.

Wow!! What an amazing hotel. We arrived in the middle of a power outage, to be met by polite friendly and professional staff, we were made aware of the situation and offered a seat by the fire with complimentary nibbles, we were kept up to date with the situation throughout until power was restored. Considering the disruption, the staff remained calm and all food was delivered promptly and was delicious. The rooms were very tastefully done, well equipped and spotless, beds were extremely comfy and the rooms were toasty warm on a night that got below freezing. Breakfast was really good and we were well looked after by all of the staff. We have to say it is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in and would 100% recommend The Melbreak to anyone. Well done everyone concerned

Fantastico piccolo Inn. Rimase per una notte tra le attività del distretto del lago in onore e buttermere. Circa 30 minuti di auto da entrambi. Sulla strada dal lago bassenthwaite che era perfetto per rifrire dopo un giorno attivo. Abbiamo soggiornato nella camera 25 che era deliziosa! Perfetta per una famiglia di quattro. Bello piccolo giardino comunale con un banco piquenico. Parcheggio facile. Personale carino, e cibo era grande! Sicuramente tornerà!
