The hotel is definitely not a 4 star. Top range 3 star at best. The room was clean. It was advertised as a king sized bed, however putting 2 single beds together is very misleading. The Italian restaurant, the staff are nice but the service is very very slow. Took me an hour to get food. The location is ideal. The sports centre is good and spacious. The pool is good fun. The gym needs a complete modernisation program. Not enough equipment and in a very small room. The sports centre could utiltse space more effectively and have a state of the art gym in the other bigger rooms. It would be used well, however this is sadly not the case. I will return and use this hotel in the future. The price is not cheep and if your expecting Hilton quality then this is not the hotel for you.

A lovely 4 night stay , myself and my granddaughter really enjoyed Aviemore , we were there during school term so it wasn’t overly busy . We have been lots of times over the years and last years experience was totally different to this years. Aspects was exceptional, the presentation was like something from master chef and the food itself was beautiful. Fish restaurant was very nice but overly priced and not by a tad either. Offsite landmark was very good and not not busy at all . My only negative was the swimming pool . We arrived just after 6 for a quick swim before dinner and I was greeted with (not hotel staff) a swim coach/teacher who rudely told us we couldn’t swim there and it was for them only , I was embarrassed, half naked getting shouted at , my granddaughter just wanted to abort mission . Lady on reception was extremely apologetic and said she would speak to them as this wasn’t the case and hotel guests are always priority. This needs to be addressed , we paid nearly £800 and we should be able to swim without this hassle. We did go again in the morning and it was very nice and quiet but the evening before put us on a bit of a deflater

We recently stayed at the Macdonald Highland Hotel for two nights (checking in on Fri-30-Aug and checking out on Sun-01-Sept; room 2202 a “deluxe double” room). This trip was a special occasion for us as we were enjoying some quality time as a family of three before welcoming our second child — I’m currently 8 months pregnant. When booking, I mentioned my pregnancy and requested a “popular” room to contribute in making this special. (Despite the resort being like a ghost town, the room we were in was not just basic but subpar). While we rate it 10/10 for children with the array of facilities offered (and is the only reason we hope to return next year), I must express our disappointment with the quality of sleep we experienced during our stay. Being 8 months pregnant, sleep is already challenging, and unfortunately, the bed in our room was atrocious. The mattress was severely sunken in the centre, which exacerbated my existing pelvic girdle pain and left me in significant discomfort. The mattress was too hard, the sheets were torn and it has to be said, it was sadly the most uncomfortable bed I’ve slept in. As a result, I only managed about 4 hours of sleep the entire stay, and on the second night, my partner even ended up sleeping on the floor. Certainly not worth the £408 we paid for our stay — we expected much better. The general feel of the place is tired and in need of refreshing - particularly the rooms. There was mould around the bath / shower, the TV is Freeview with no channel guide and the sound wasn’t working on half of them … Not that we go to hotel’s to watch TV however, it’s nice to put on while family are getting ready / in the evening. I would have shared this feedback upon check-out, but since we were not asked about our experience, I felt it more appropriate to communicate this via a review. On a positive note, our daughter, despite a disturbed sleep the second night, had an enjoyable time. Like I said, the facilities for children were fabulous. We hope that if we return next year, we’ll be able to enjoy a more restful stay!

La posizione è ideale per camminare! Sebbene sia una parte della stazione ferroviaria, la mia conoscenza è la possibilità di essere portato dall'hotel. Il personale era molto amichevole e preconcettoso. Era un soggiorno piacevole con tutto quello che aveva bisogno. Era pulito, solo in parte le cose erano arrivate negli anni, ma non era peggio in considerazione del prezzo.
