We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Malolo! The resort is beautiful - like a postcard everywhere you look, and the food is delicious (albeit a little expensive). But what truly makes this resort worth 5 stars is the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. Several of the staff remembered our names and would smile and check in on us when we would see them in passing. It's these small and genuine gestures that made us feel truly welcome and at ease. We also experienced a cyclone during our stay but the staff went out of their way to ensure our safety and comfort. The resort even hosted additional activities and entertainment in the days following. Cyclone or not I was sad to leave in the end! We can't wait to come back to Malolo one day again soon!
My partner and I stayed for 5 nights during the off-peak season (December) using a package from MyFiji Holidays. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating, which made the stay even better. Staff went above their standard duties, making us special cocktails off the menu and even a hand woven coconut leaf hat after we attended a Fijian weaving experience. The amenities are all you could need for a mix of relaxation and adventure. The snorkel gear and kayak were available as we needed. There was a coral reef right in front of the resort beach and a small rock island only a 10min kayak from the resort with abundant wildlife - reef fish, reef shark, stingrays, turtles and starfish! The water was walk-in temperature. There wasn’t really any need to leave the resort as there were so many activities to do there. The massage hut was perched on a point overlooking the water - no need for music with the natural ambiance. The staff were so lovely and happy to chat. They had a guest pool with bar service in the pool, overlooking the beach. We also had a private plunge pool and an outdoor shower at the room, which were lovely to use in privacy. The rooms were spacious and clean with aircon and huge a bed. There was a daily schedule filled with included activities (ceviche demo, coconut tree use, basket weaving, sports) and additional cost activities (island picnics, snorkel trips, visit to a floating restaurant). We attended a Meke (Fijian dance) with a Lovo (underground oven) dinner, which was fun to experience. We would love to come back to enjoy the hospitality of Tropica Island staff and Fijians!

We are so grateful to everyone at Tadrai for giving us such a special and idyllic holiday. We were lucky to spend 5 nights here and enjoyed every minute. We feel sorry for anyone who had a less than 5 star experience. Our experience was better than 5 stars. The bures are huge and have everything you could need. If you fall asleep with the doors wide open you get to wake up to the most spectacular sunrise and stunning view. You don’t need a sandy beach right at the resort because you can be taken to your own private one every day if you like. Or walk around the corner to a stunning sandy beach if you really need it. Not only that, but the reef out the front of the resort gave me my favourite ever snorkelling experience- the wonderful Freddie took me out as my guide for about 1.5 hours of pure bliss. Speaking of, as many others have mentioned, the staff make this resort so truly special. They work so hard and yet always have energy left over to make you feel so welcome and looked after. I hope the owners know how lucky they are to have such brilliant all-rounders on their team and give them the credit they are due. As a vegetarian, Charles, Sam and Moses went out of their way to make sure I had something I wanted to eat. The food they made was not only delicious but wholesome and healthy. Unlike other all inclusive places, we didn’t leave feeling sick from overly, unnecessarily rich food. We were so well looked after by the fabulous F&B team - thank you Asa, Kasi, Vika, Vani and all the others we didn’t get to meet. The day trips are so luxurious and personalised. A special thank you to Kasi for being our literal hero, and the wonderful Rocky, Api, Masi, Freddie, Tiko and anyone else we missed for the best activities we have ever had on holidays. Thank you to darling Lavenia for the warmest and sweetest welcome and for resolving any minor issues immediately. Thank you to Nancy and Nash for all they did behind the scenes. Thank you to the gorgeous Lela who went above and beyond to look after us and make our room so special. Thank you to awesome Frisco and polymath Sam for serenading us and bringing so much joy. Thank you to dear Carlos for taking such good care of us. And thank you to the countless others including Johnny, Lassaro, Magi, Izzy, (sorry if I got any names wrong!) and all the ones behind the scenes working so so hard so that we could switch off and have the time of our lives. Vinaka vaka-levu, you are all totoka sara xxx
Had the best time at Musket Cove. Food was fabulous, pool amazing. Dolphin Safari was such a wonderful treat to see large pod of dolphins twice. Swam with turtles and snoring was great as well. Coming back to our Villa with beds made and clean was so nice. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
I am somewhat regretfully submitting a less than positive review of Matamanoa. It’s a shame, because my wife and I really liked some of the staff, and I have somewhat mixed feelings about the resort as a whole. It’s a beautiful natural setting, and there are definitely some nice people working there. However, our stay was impacted rather negatively by the two witless managers in charge of the place, Patrick and Daven. We had a number of issues with the front desk staff having no idea how to help us, and not following up or being proactive at all. I put this down to poor training and lack of involvement from the managers. The best example of this came on our first day. We arrived around mid day, and went to our room, finding it rather hot. We made sure all curtains were closed and set air conditioning to max, with all fans on full. The fan over the bed would not spin up properly. We went to lunch and hoped things would have improved by the time we got back. Unfortunately, the temperature was just the same, and we became rather concerned as we did not want to try to sleep in a hot and sticky room. We therefore contacted maintenance, and the maintenance chief began trying to fix the fan. I hate to say that I have forgotten the maintenance chief’s name, but he was a great guy, very competent and helpful. However, the fan could not be fixed, and the maintenance chief said he would suggest to management that we be moved to another room. This began a day-long back and forth between us and the front desk, where we kept asking for updates and information as to what the plan was, and we kept getting stonewalled. Our room was a long way from the front desk, so we communicated by phone, and it was clear that the front desk did not know what to tell us, and eventually they just stopped answering the phone. At one point I was put on hold while I was told management would be consulted, and then I was completely forgotten about. I eventually hung up after about thirty minutes on hold, and then called back and there was no answer. There were apparently various plans to try to fix the fan, but nothing worked, and we never got any updates or any confirmation that we would be moved until late that evening. We had wanted to go out to the beach and go snorkelling that day, but we felt compelled to wait in our sweltering room (as we explained to front desk staff multiple times!) with our things still packed, because we were waiting for the phone to ring with promised updates that never came. We did not want to chance being stuck in the room overnight, so we ended up just waiting around all day, and finally were notified that we could change rooms at about 9:00 pm! At no time did we receive any contact from either of the resort managers, despite our many phone calls to the front desk, and my certain knowledge that they were aware of the situation. So we basically wasted our entire first day. The next day we bumped into assistant manager Daven on the footpath, and he i
