First the positives: good location; on a quiet street; nice staff; fast WiFi which worked on the terrace; nice seating area downstairs. The hotel sent me a text, before arrival, with 4 parking options. But: I was surprised that a four star hotel would not have a safe nor a fridge in the room. There is quite a bit of black mould in the shower. Like a lot of Spanish hotels, it advertises that it has air-conditioning, but it doesn’t really mean that. Not in early/mid April anyway. The room was at 25 degrees when we arrived. Reception adjusted something but it only brought the temperature down to 22 degrees and that seemed to take hours.

Ubeda is a wonderful and picturesque town. Booked a suite with balcony at the Hotel Palacio - which was extremely large and very grand (pictures on the website are v accurate) and yet fairly unpractical. Good points: very central; valet parking (expensive but was incredibly useful at an exceptionally busy period); wrap around balcony was amazing for watching the Semana Santa processions. Not so good: no WiFi reception in bedroom but there was in the enormous entrance/bathroom; balcony was not one you could relax on, no outside space - rooftop pool was closed (they said it was closed when booking) and looked completely out of commission so you couldn’t just sit up there - bet the views would have been very good. Kind of weird to have so much space but a lot of it you couldn’t use. Didn’t have breakfast - instead went to the incredibly good value Coffee Garden around the corner. Not sorry I stayed here but should have done better research I think.

Abbiamo fatto un fine settimana, venerdì e domenica, e' stata una visita di piacere per conoscere Ubeda. L'hotel è in un luogo privilegiato, accanto alla strada Mayor, che è la strada con la più grande offerta gastronomica e luogo dove parteno le visite guidate alla monumentale Ubeda. L'hotel è piuttosto piccolo, in un vecchio edificio con un bellissimo patio centrale. La stanza mi è sembrata corretta, e molto pulita. Incluso la colazione, che per il numero di clienti non era tipo buffet, ma ti offrono una varietà di opzioni e colazione abbastanza bene. Il prezzo dell'hotel mi è sembrato abbastanza buono per i tempi che correno.

We were pleasantly surprised. The room was a decent size and was comfortable and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was very good – close to sites we wanted to see and restaurants, the two we ate at turned out to be good and reasonably priced. You can park right under the hotel, a convenience. We ended up finding a handicapped spot a bit away, but what the heck it was free. The room rate was very reasonable at $75, total. Breakfast was additional, 8 euros each, I believe and was very disappointing with very limited and mediocre choices, although I did manage to get them to make me some scrambled eggs after a couple of attempts, because I think they had quite a bit of difficulty understanding my English. I would go elsewhere for breakfast, if you can find a place. The only weak link here.

Reúne todos los requisitos para calificarlo de excelente: muy céntrico (en la plaza del Ayuntamiento), en un precioso edificio renacentista con un patio interior magnífico sobre el que se accede a las dos plantas, habitaciones amplias, muy limpio, decorado con gusto a juego con el edificio, dos inmensas camas muy cómodas, desayuno surtido y variado... y el personal. Te facilitan por correo previo dónde aparcar (al lado, en Santa Clara) hay un aparcamiento público gratuito y los coches quedan recogidos de 12 noche a 7 mañana). Ah, un hotel con muy buenos precios.

Dopo aver visitato un certo numero di paracadute, questo è molto inferiore al standard previsto. Quando entra l'edificio, l'unica parte del paracadute con luce naturale è un sito ed è bello essere stato informato in anticipo. La stanza era disgustosa con poca o nessuna luce naturale, e per coprire tutto non c'erano strutture per la fabbricazione di tè/caffe', e quando ho chiesto alla ricezione, mi è stato detto che solo due camere nel paradiso avevano questa struttura (forse in due o tre mesi mi è stato detto). Anche gli hotel più basilari hanno certamente questo impianto. Mi piacciono i paradossi, ma questo è ben al di fuori del marchio. Non mi mette fuori paradossi, ma mi lascia un po' frustrata.

Ci è stato dato una stanza sul secondo piano, che ha una vista sulla piscina e giardino dove si trova un castello di lusso per le feste. Purtroppo per noi abbiamo avuto una notte molto turbata con la chitarra e la canzone fuori dal suono che è andato fino a 2.00am. La stanza è buona, anche se la doccia è temperamentale e può bagnare il bagno come si spinge fuori dal suo attacco di parete! È annunciato che l'inglese è parlato ma non è e cercando di navigare il menu per cena è un incubo. Suggerirei che una traduzione inglese è ottenuta. Google Translate è utile ma non sempre accurato. Ubeda è una città interessante con molti edifici belli e vale la pena visitare, anche se l'hotel si trova a circa trenta minuti a piedi dal centro storico. Il museo di San Giovanni della Croce è particolarmente interessante come è un tour della piccola sinagoga medievale.
