Nice budget hotel in de vicinity, walking distance, of the old town centre. Clean and every thing needed is present. Price/quality top. Very nice and outmost helpful staff. The reception was super and very friendly. Also the hotel parking was appreciated. Really good place to stay to explore Ghent.

Lovely quiet place to stay, slept better here than anywhere else I've stayed on holiday. I liked that it was quiet, comfortable, clean, and it had a separate bedroom. The staff organised wheelchair hire for me which was ready to collect from the chemist opposite on the same street. Only a small fee is charged for wheelchair hire in Belgium which was a pleasant surprise. The reception staff are lovely and very helpful. I took my blue badge and parking with this is free in certain areas, just print out the necessary translation, before travelling. And display on the dashboard next to the blue badge. We decided to stay in an aparthotel so that I could prepare my own breakfast as I have many dietary requirements, mainly coeliac and dairy intolerance. But also a few more. Admittedly I only went down to breakfast one morning as I have chronic fatigue, so mornings are difficult for me. The choice for breakfast I found to be the same on inspecting the choice for myself so I again had a banana and black coffee which was a really great coffee, i love strong black and it was. On other mornings I made overnight gluten free oats with soya milk ( which we bought from shop) I was happy to be able to eat and be able to prepare food for myself. In the room. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as did we both. I would stay again. But I would skip meals. For our stay I would definitely recommend to others,

No alojamos en una habitación doble con baño privado y podemos decir que fue una gran elección. Desde el principio la atención por parte de los gerentes fue estupenda, aportando soluciones ante nuestra hora de llegada, cuando la recepción ya había cerrado. La habitación estaba cuidada y muy limpia. Contaba con todo lo necesario incluso con secador. La temperatura dentro de las instalaciones era muy agradable. El comedor estaba bien organizado y limpio, ofrecían desayuno por 4 euros, tipo bufet. La localización era estupenda, muy cerca del centro y de la estación de tren. Sin duda lo recomendamos 100%

Voor ons bezoek aan de Gentse feesten hebben we dit hotel gekozen vooreerst voor zijn prijs en de ligging, net iets buiten de feestvreugde. Na onze wagen te parkeren in de zuidparking (200m van het hotel) hebben we ons ingecheckt en kregen we kamer 16 aangewezen. Het onthaal was vriendelijk maar de kamerprijs werd reeds van onze kredietkaart afgeboekt. We hebben geen keuze gekregen om via onze bankkaart te betalen. Vreemd !! Kamer 16 bevond zich in een bijgebouw waardoor we heel wat gangen en trappen moesten trotseren om er te geraken. Kamer was zeer basic, een beetje ouwbollig. Dubbel bed was klein (1,60m) maar bevatte goeie matrassen. Algemene indruk was een standaard kamer voor een standaard prijs. Geen mini-bar, wel een frigo op de gelijkvloers waar je iets kon uithalen. Geen thee-en koffiefaciliteiten. Wel een goeie airco en douchecel. Helaas was de netheid van de kamer twijfelachtig doordat we een leeg drankblik onder het bed vonden. Hopelijk was de rest wel grondig gepoetst. Hotel is wel stil en dikke pluim voor de nachtdienst die ons geholpen heeft aan de toegangscode via de telefoon. Door het feest vieren waren wij deze kwijt gespeeld. Het ontbijt was goed. Geen spek met eieren maar wel lekkere ontbijtkoeken. We raden dit hotel aan als je het lawaai van de stad schuwt, als je genoegen neemt met de basis, als je niet teveel gesteld bent op luxe en de prijs/kwaliteit in het oog houdt. Een standaard uitvalbasis om Gent te ontdekken. Hotel bevat geen lift en omgeving ‘s nachts is een beetje onguur.

Meine Frau und ich waren im Rahmen einer Flandern-Rundreise für 4 Tage im Hotel Cathedral zu Gast. Parkmöglichkeiten bestehen in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Hotel (kostenpflichtig). Die Zimmer sind sehr groß, sauber und ruhig. Auch das Badezimmer erfüllte unsere Ansprüche zur Gänze. Das kostenlose W-Lan funktionierte perfekt. Die Lage des Hotel in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Stadtzentrum ist top. Das Frühstücksbuffet lies keine Wünsche offen. Die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiterinnen war erstklassig. Meine Frau muss sich glutenfrei ernähren - ihr wurde frisches, glutenfreies Brot aus der Bäckerei serviert. Wir können das Hotel Cathedra sehr empfehlen und würden es auf jeden Fall wieder buchen.
