We booked a three bedroom villa over Christmas 2022 and asked if the bedrooms were air conditioned. The answer we received from management was Yes Aircon Cheers. Disappointed to find out on check-in that there is only one air-conditioner in every villa and that is in the lounge area. Unit 7 (the unit we stayed in) is in dire need of renovating. The shower recess is full of mould, there are holes in the walls, had only one x two-seater couch so only enough seating for 2 guests in a 3 bedroom unit. Villa 7 was far from clean. The whole property is looking very tired and slightly neglected. We are regular visitors to Wondai but would hesitate to stay here again.

We went to Kingaroy for the Labour Day long weekend and stayed at Hillview Cottages. We stayed in a particularly quirky little cottage known as “The Church.” According to our host, the cottage was originally a church in the nearby little community of Memerambi. The cottage was incredibly peaceful with beautiful scenery looking towards the Wondai State Forest. It had everything you could need including a spacious living area, kitchen and bathroom that included a spa. Continental breakfast was included and there was no shortage of food to get the day off to a great start. We stayed for two nights and could easily have stayed for longer. There are numerous things to do in and around Kingaroy and Hillview Cottages is a great spot to launch out from. The cottages are located a little outside of the town but that adds to the charm.
