Un giardino per fumatori.Abbiamo avuto una vista magnifica di Mont Warning dalla nostra sala di vista montagna, guardando una tranquilla strada posteriore di Murwillumbah, ma purtroppo fumare fuori dalle stanze sembra essere ottimo qui. Quando usciamo a cena, dovevamo camminare per due gruppi che si sfregavano, e quando siamo tornati a cena c’era un gruppo vicino alla nostra stanza, la nostra stanza era piena di fumo che era entrato sotto la porta e attraverso la finestra della vasca. Abbiamo ordinato al manager di lamentarsi, ma si è reso evidente che era seduto fuori con il fumatore(i)! Pensavo che il fumo fosse vietato a pochi metri di un edificio/porta, ma qui ci sono le cinghie fornite fuori dalle stanze e a tavola a soli un metro o due di distanza e la ”zona fumante” ufficiale è proprio accanto all'ingresso dal parco automobilistico. 

Questa era la mia seconda volta che ero al Binna Burra Sky Lodge, dopo che i fuochi d'artificio hanno colpito il Binna Burra Lodge nel 2019. Le Sky Lodge sono dotate di bevande, utensili, lavanderia e bagno.L'unico aspetto limitativo del servizio è che non ci sono scarpe da bagno fornite per proteggere i nostri piedi dal pavimento freddo di pietra. A causa di circostanze impreviste di lavoro, un amico personale che doveva portarci fino al Sky Lodge, e accompagnarci su un cammino di bush, doveva cancellare circa una settimana prima della nostra prenotazione. Ho chiamato la linea di riscaldamento immobiliare e il responsabile del carico di alloggio, Pip era molto responsabile di raccomandare un operatore di trasporto privato di trasportarci da Nerang Train Station a Binna Burra e indietro. Quando siamo arrivati a Binna Burra, mi ha sorpreso di vedere che l'iscrizione per i Binna Burra Sky Lodges è passata alla Teahouse, che è circa 200-300 metri dalla strada da dove si trovavano i Sky Lodges. Grazie a Dio, abbiamo avuto un ammirabile manager di servizio, Justine, che ha rilassato le nostre preoccupazioni, permettendoci di depositare le nostre borse quando abbiamo iniziato a fare un giro per il Circuito Daves Creek. Egli doveva anche gestire e affrontare il mio padre insensato, che chiese di uscire presto in marcia e di mettere in piedi la nostra posizione quando eravamo incontatti a causa della scarsa ricezione del segnale. Quando ci siamo accolti alla reception, Justine ha fornito un servizio clienti eccezionale, portandoci fino ai Sky Lodges e portando i nostri sacchetti pesanti nella stanza. Ha anche accettato di uscire dal nostro ufficio lasciando le chiavi, invece di dover mettere tutti i nostri beni alla ricezione.

We recently stayed at Beechmont for a couple of nights to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Everything we really want to say has already been mentioned in the reviews by others, but there are a couple of things I want to say, First of all, we loved our time at this special place. The staff were sensational and to be greeted each morning at the door of the dining room by Scott was terrific. The breakfasts were plentiful in size and catered to our minor dietary needs that we had been previously asked about. I really enjoyed the little glass of yoghurt on the first morning (once my wife had eaten the sprinkled nuts off the top). The scrambled eggs were excellent, but I am not a fan of bacon cooked really crispy like Americans seem to like it. The cherry tomatoes with chopped garlic was excellent. We did not leave the property during our stay, and had our picnic hamper on the balcony, which had heaps of sun, and no wind. The hamper had luscious goodies and there was more than we could eat. Of particular note was the very small sweet pickled onions. We loved our food at dinner on the first night. I had quail as entrée and the pork for main. Both excellent dishes (although I would not serve seeded mustard and cold apple puree. Dijon mustard and warm apple would be my preference). On the second night, after being “entertained” by Jack at the bar, we had our dinner. There was a leek and potato soup with shaved truffle from the degustation menu and it was absolutely sensational. My wife had the cod for her main and pronounced it as being top quality. Sadly, my wagyu cap was a complete disappointment, being chewy and grisly. It had a nice taste, but was inedible. There are a number of minor matters that I mention in the spirit of helpfulness. (In my working life, I ran one establishment of 1000 beds and another of 450 beds). We were placed in an accessible room, at our request, and the bathroom was excellent. I would consider having a heater installed in the bathroom, because it was freezing. I noticed a previous reviewer mentioned water from the shower going all over the floor in the accessible bathroom. We did not find this at all – the trick is to lower the shower rose, point it towards the wall and if possible hold it in one hand to wash yourself. I would also have a chair placed in the main room as there was nothing other than the bed to sit on. Also, perhaps a rug/mat in the room might give a feeling of warmth. I loved the combustion fire, but sadly, my wife was affected by the very small amount of smoke she sensed. I realise that the property is in the countryside, but we found we had to brush down the tables and chairs on the balcony to get rid of the cobwebs. I’m guessing this would be a never-ending chore for cleaning staff. There is also a need for some of the walls and the door frames to be cleaned, but I am being petty about that. Finally, I want to comment on the cost. There is no doubt that the price for 2 nights plus dinne

We were quite disappointed with our stay at O'Reillys. Firstly we didn't realise how far away the villas were from the main retreat. Nothing on the website prepared us for that. It meant us driving every time we headed to the dining area and the activiities. And there was no parking for the villa guests up at the retreat, so it was always a walk from the day visitors car park. We enjoyed the sunset tour, that was the only good experience we had. The wildlife encounter was very poor, and glad that it was included in our package, because if we paid extra for that, we would have been complaining on the spot. The bird of prey presentation was very good, but having to pay for the chance to put the bird on our arms was excessive, since we took the photos ourselves. I understand that these beautiful animals are expensive to keep and feed, but the presentation was another activity that was charged extra for most guests. That should have been included. We did pay for the experience, but it is a shame that we had to. The dining room was dark and dingy and very outdated, and needs lots of love and serious renovation. Looking out the windows from the restaurant, it is very dirty and cobwebs in those areas, it looks awful. Simple to fix those kind of things. The food was quite good. Service was good from staff. The villas themselves were very nice, but so bland. There were shelves with nothing on them at all, no information on the area or the national park. No artwork on the walls and because of the completley overgrown bush, it was dark. it felt so clinical and unwelcoming. There was no view from our balcony as it was totally surrounded by the bush. This was just another disapointment for us. The retreat reception and general areas were like visiting a time capsule, and while I appreciate rustic, there was nothing appealing about this experience. My one spot review was for the food and the sunset tour only, I don't feel that anything else deserved a good review.
