Arrived 2 days before Christmas excited to start our break on the way to visit family. Skipped into the reception office to share the Christmas spirit only to be brought down by the female staff member who did not even acknowledge my existence. After me clearing my throat and announcing myself she barked what is the booking under and then proceeded to tell me that the cabin we had booked would be very cramped for 3 people...I thought that was strange given I had booked a 2 bedroom Riverview Cabin but wanted to keep my christmas vibes high so thanked her, took the keys and found...um...a box that we were to stay in for the night that had zero view and was definitely not the two bedroom cabin I had booked. A quick check of my booking confirmation...THROUGH THEIR OWN WEBSITE confirmed that I had indeed booked a Riverview cabin for one night. That's ok mistakes happen...I went back to reception and was again ignored by the receptionist and decided to just kindly say that I think there had been a mistake. A barked 'what' was replied. I stated that I had been booked into a Riverview cabin. She then raised her voice and told me no you are booked in a standard cabin (which are so crap that they aren't even displayed as an option on their website). I then attemped to show her my booking confirmation and she refused to even look at it and stated to take it up with booking.com. I explained I booked with their own website. It was then that I realised I was dealing with a stage 5 Karen. She breifly glanced at my booking confirmation which I was still holding out and simply said there's nothing available. I explained that we had paid extra to stay in their 'top' choice and would at least like a refund of the difference. Then she hit the roof. Apparently it's a 'tarrif issue' and that I had paid less than the current tarrifs. Ummm yes. No doubt I did pay less as I booked back in MAY and not last minute. The grumpy Karen continued on her rant so I stated. Look it's obvious that I'm not getting anywhere with you but I am not getting what I paid for and am disappointed. When I returned back to my waiting family, my husband was quite shocked at the customer service when I relayed my experince and assumed I was being a melodramatic mole. My only response to him going to talk to her himself was 'good luck'. After a minute or two he came back ashen faced to state that she had told him to either take the cabin or leave with a refund (I want to state here that e were both calm and kind and at no point abusive). So anyway. After cracking a drink and a swim in the very well photographed, much crapper in reality pool we tried to move on. Only to have my husband bitten by a bee....because of course there was also an entire bee hive in the inner wall of the cabin. Our one night in our 1970s shoebox was spent drifting off to the dalcet sounds of a swarm of bees and the creaky bed that was older than me. Long story short. We had the most comfortable stay at the Mandarin Motel. The room was so spacious, clean and quiet. We were made so welcome on our arrival and the motel undercover parking was great. The motel is was close to everything we needed. We would not hesitate in recommending this motel to family and friends. We will definitely be staying here on our next time in Macksville. I was looking for a stopover on my way to Queensland and thought I would find a suitable B & B in this area. I took a chance on this establishment and I wasn't disappointed. There are 3 rooms available and I decided on the Queen room, which had the separate bathroom across the hall. It was a nice set up and having the detached bathroom is better than having an ensuite attached, as it was a larger area but still private. I made good use of the bath after a long days drive from Sydney. The downstairs common area was large and inviting, which I didn't really use it because of my one night stay. It would be very handy if I was staying for a few days or more. The B & B is located a little bit back from the river and the main road, which means there were no traffic or noise issues and a short walk up a hill didn't worry me at all. It gets busy in the school holidays and the restaurants can get booked out, so I had dinner at the golf club nearby. That was a good decision. It would have been a pleasant walk to the club, but it was too cold and dark to walk along the river in the Winter months! Breakfast was great that morning and the host was very pleasant to deal with. It is hard to say anything negative about my experience and booking with them direct saved me a few dollars. I would stay here again.

Appears to be a historic motel that has been renovated beautifully and perched overlooking the beach. Patios share a walkway down to the pool, however have privacy screening between them and gorgeous views of the ocean. Would be a great place in the warmer months with a clean looking pool with seating around it, and a short walk from the foreshore. Clean, stylish, and with all the necessities despite not having a full kitchen. Small fridge with freezer, sink, toaster, kettle, plenty of glassware and plates. Smart TV. The host offered a fresh bottle of milk when we arrived which was a nice touch. It’s a fairly small space, not much space to store bags, which didn’t bother us but may be a consideration for longer stays. Across the road from Woolworths which was helpful. Only negative is that the door does not key-lock internally, only finger locks, which is a bit of a concern for younger families like ours with curious children, considering the property is directly on the road on that side.

An absolute delight and excellent value in a quiet part of Nambucca Heads. Our room opened onto a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the river, The room itself was large, very well furnished with frig/mini bar, electric kettle, air-conditioning, TV, a desk with two upright chairs and another well cushioned chair by the bed. The bathroom was spacious, with good sized vanity and a walk-in shower. A grab rail in the shower would be helpful. Parking is included in the room rate as is breakfast, either continental or cooked. The local RSL club offers a pick-up/drop-off service which made it an easy choice for dinner. All rooms are on the first floor, accessed by stairs. There is no lift. The room rate compared favourably with other motels in the town, much cheaper than Coffs Harbour and was very easy to access from the M1

Ho avuto un tempo meraviglioso al Marcel Towers Holiday Apparent. Struttura fantastica. Era molto pulita e economica. Le camere erano solo perfette. Il mio piccolo l'avorio assolutamente, molto spazioso apparenza. Molto consigliabile.. 10/10
